lol i’m in the usa, regardless of where you are there is just no easy way to buy this man’s fragrances. quite frankly he needs a business manager cause it’s not this hard to find resellers

Love the way you always convey knowledge, fairness and honesty in your reviews without trashing the fragrances, even when you dislike them. You seem to be a kind and genuine person. Always enjoy your content.
I just love apex by roja dove, it was the first fragrance I fell in love with when testing. I'm 16 and one day I hope to buy a bottle myself. Great video!
Interesting how you refrained from saying how you like or dislike it throughout the video... usually you're very vocal about your opinion. You weren't a big fan of this particular fragrance, I can tell.
To be fair- the comment section shouldn't be read by anyone looking for a mood boost- you are naïve if you think you wont be reading anything negative in a rant section on any modern day commenting platform.
Vintage stuff brought up to date is my thing, so yes please do that and don't make it too sweet. I own Apex, having tried it in a boutique. I get a lot of incense.
We never hear you speak of the house of FLORIS aaron, santal by floris is lovely, also most of their work. Even Carlos benaim/ Ralph Lauren copied the scent of lotion elite which was a shaving cream by floris released in 1851, Ralph Lauren released it as polo in 1978 taking the credit, it wasn't until 1979/1980 floris decided to bottle the fragrance, probably realising how popular it was at the time.
Disclosure: I have not tried this parfume, so I have no idea if it’s any good. My opinion is that the hate for this one is for the agressive marketing and the dishonest reviewers who push a (slightly?) overpriced product because they got a free bottle from the company. It’s OK to review free stuff, but it’s important imho to be transparent. I’m sure making a fragrance is hard work, I think the hate is about the marketing schemes and not the smell itself.
Not hating at all but Roja fragrances are an example of how just because a fragrance has an exorbitant price tag does not mean it will be good. Longevity and projection is horrible‼️ I’d much rather buy an affordable fragrance like Genre Parfum where the quality,performance and longevity beats any Roja I’ve ever owned.
I've seen you saying this is boring. This is that and this is that. So I would like you to watch this video and rethink little bit abou it. Maybe next time before saying that a fragrance is boring or something like that just because it's fresh and it's not oud, dirt and crazy enough, you can go exercise instead. Or find a second job. You say it's well constructed but you don't like it because it's herbaceous. If it's well constructed, but it's not something you'd wear, then why take off points...? Doesn't make sense. Idk, is it ok to say its a masterpiece, but i'll give it a 5 because it's not something i'd wear? However, definitely overpriced, i agree on points coming off for that.

Well said regarding that fragrance website. I don't understand it at all why they slate fragrances so much, or they review one that isn't even released yet, just to be the first one! I like how you made the statement about individuals remarks about fragrances. I see it on Fragrantica often. They could learn from you in that area. Fragrance is subjective, you’re not going to like everything, if it isn’t for you then it’s definitely for someone else. Great vid as usual 💪🏾.
I like this one by Roja, thanks for the always on spot review. And thank you for addressing what I personally see as a rampant misunderstanding by "enthusiasts" on how fragrances are created. It's hard work which I respect. I couldn't make a fragrance to save my life but respect those who can even if the product is a "miss". Living your dream is a blessing. Anyone who tries to turn the dream into an axe grinding nightmare needs to reevaluate.
Got a 95% 100ml full bottle of Apex off eBay for a total 141$. For that price, it’s worth it. Wouldn’t pay retail for it. It’s the classic polo green scent that your dad wore in the 80’s. Love it and projects very well.
Apex wasn't personally for me, it felt a little dated. Definitely don't see why people throw shade online as fragrance is so subjective. Personally it's not to my taste is fine to say, and agree that we should call out the shameless cash grabs and creatively bankrupt practice of just rebottling Aventus and changing one note. But calling a fragrance "bad" seems silly as who's to say what's good and bad. Horses for courses and all that!
Another great video and poignant words! When i first got into fragrances 6 years ago i thought being part of a fragrance community was going to be really awesome and one of my favorite things about this passion. Instead it turned out to be my least favorite part, b/c unfortunately so much of fragcom is just toxic. The negativity and hate that radiates from it is just something that i want no part of. And i know it's not everyone, but it's enough to make me go no thx i'll just enjoy fragrances on my own.
A friend of mine came by and he had ROJA ELYSIUM POUR HOMME PARFUM on him and ir was amazing. One of the best perfumes i have smelled.. I could smell it far away ,it was soo nice...And my wife that almost doesnt like anything loved it.. Try it if you havent ....Im got to buy a sample
I found with Apex particularly, a lot of people gave it crap for looking like 'axe' or 'lynx'. So all green and black colour schemes are banned now? If you dont like the scent, thats your own opinion, but calling Roja a fraud because you dont like one fragrance is just messed up. Even if at first the scent wasnt for me, I could appreciate the complexity of the notes. A few months later i'm absolutely loving it after thinking it wasnt for me initially.
Tried it at Harrods back in May, it was okay - nothing mind-blowing. Left me a tad unimpressed just like MFK's recent 724. Roja has some that really knock it out of the park and some that are simple & inoffensive.

One thing I picked up about this fragrance is it has quite an fecal/animalic drydown - hence the name 'Apex'. I dunno if it's civet or something like indol but it's quite strong. That said, I like the top and mid but prefer Elysium to this.
Just received my Guapo order and I haven’t been happier with any other of my fragrances, absolutely incredible for the price and I could not recommend more. Thank you Aaron for such an amazing scent :)

People on Fragrantica are harsh and rugged and rude sometimes with a lot of awesome fragrances. I love fragrances. They make me happy and set my tone for the day. Apex is not a bad fragrance at all to me. It’s done well . I am sure alot of people gonna like it. It’s a Roja so you know it’s got that Roja price tag

I actually had a sample of this and sprayed it on while listening to your review. Very interesting to get the full experience! I must be honest and say that I kinda love it!
First off, your channel is fantastic. Your voice actually gives me ASMR, very relaxing. Also, for what it’s worth- his name is pronounced “Raw-Juh Duv”, you can hear him say it on his RU-vid channel.
When I first tested this, it was a 6/10 for me but over the last months it continually increased to a solid 10/10 now. I've never had that happen in such an extreme way as with that one. I literally love that scent now.
Great review. All we just wanted for end users to know how, when a fragrance to be suitable for, what vibe it throws according to you. Really looking for you to cover those points as well. It will help.
I couldnot agree more. The slanderous comments on scents because it’s simply “not for them” is so discouraging. Leaving a sh*t comment doesn’t give others any sort of constructive information for others to use when looking for frags. Just on the other end of the spectrum, someone else is bashing something the other person loves. There’s no right or wrong in this space. It’s purely preferences. How about we try explaining why we do or don’t like a scent so others can have a takeaway from your experiences. Keep up the great work my friend, and thank you for your transparency on your opinions for frags your both enjoy and don’t.

bruh to be honest they hustle alot with the marketing, expecting something youthful from the whole presentation thing. Instead I get a boomer in a post millennial bottle. I do love my Rojas, but this one is definitely not for me 🤷♂️
I probably need to spend more time with this perfume but it did smell like lynx Africa to me , which I found disappointing .Although It might just be me
Like everything in this world there are some people who will make a personality around a hobby, in this case perfumes, and they define themselves by this. So to make them feel special they need to put stuff down so they have something special about them, which is impossible.

Of all the fragrance youtubers I think your right up there Aaron. You clearly know your materials, and despite the fact that I've never smelt 90% of the ingredients you describe, your descriptive techniques are on point. Look forward to ordering a sample set from yourself soon.

It would be helpful to give some rough comparisons to other scents, I find identifying subtle commonalities gives a nice idea of the overall experience you're having... kind of like, if it's "Aqua Di Gio-esque". Remember, your fans are vicariously walking through the experience with you and you being the most superb reviewers and presenters I have yet to come across (you really do make it an excellent journey) I think utilizing every tool to really reach out to your audience would fit your arsenal nicely, Aaron. its H24 / Phantom at the start, JPG Scandal in the mids, then Sauvage Elixir on the dry down. So be weary of reviewers who shat on h24/phantom/sauvage elixir but says apex smells good.
