@@Perizaddancer yes Aarons nose should be insured for $1 billion dollars literally. Every bottle i blind bought from his opinion are excellent fragrances.
Aaron, you gotta review Followed. I would say a contender for the longest lasting fragrance ever made. One spray on my hand and it fills a room 3 days later, and i get people asking what smells like coffee and pancakes. it's insane. I did two sprays, and went to go see a friend, she could smell me through the door! Later on, her hand brushed the area where I sprayed it and she told me that the entire next day that's all she could smell. If you do, spray moderately, and dont spray in a closed space or you and that area will smell like that forever.
Aaron you are becoming my favourite. You are changing how I look on perfumes, review by review. They have also very good fragrance called Blackmail, be sure to check it out.
I just ordered this blind from John, the perfumer (a fellow Detroit native). I’ve been searching for my idea of the perfect coffee dominate fragrance for a long time. All of of my previous findings had weird notes of lemon or florals mixed in. So looking forward to receiving this, especially after hearing your detailed review..,Thanks❣️
Finally, some love for Follow. The House of Kerosene is such an underrated gem in the community. Hope you can do Unknown Pleasures and Blackmail next in this house
Gabe Millee oh amazing! I’m trying my best to educate and not patronise. So you start to understand what would work on your skin. That way you spend your money wisely.
Couldn't agree more with you Aaron. John mentioned in his interview with Sebastian that he wanted to encapsulate the scent of a coffee shop - something that many of us love to follow. I think he succeeded big time. In fact, I might even call it a masterpiece myself. And I scarcely hand out that title to a fragrance.
This is probably the only house that i would say has a similar style as you. As it powerful, extremely well mixed with beautiful chemicals. Handled fantastically. My favourite perfumer reviewing my second favourite house, excellent
I agree with you. Its monstrous and what im trying to achieve. A story, Lots of projection and lots of longevity and most importantly to be different and not fit in. Im looking forward to sampling this house.
@@AaronTerenceHughes Winter of 99 is personal favourite. Lovely gourment scent which reminds me of toasting marshmallows over a roaring fire in a wood cabin surrounded by snow. Great story for me
This one has been recommended from multiple folks, but I love how excited and enthusiastic you are- it reminds me of a conductor in front of an orchestra 😄
This review may be outdated. I just received a sample of this and the staying power is no more than 4 hours with projection disappearing after 45 mins and perfume basically becoming a skin scent. So it's possible that it has been reformulated. UPD: As I never found anything closer to real coffee than this and Cafe Tuberosa of Atelier Cologne disappeared from the market before I could make up my mind about it, I got a bottle of Follow after all. After several months of using it I realized that it is not weak at all, but it can cause nose blindness very quickly, especially if you spray it more than once anywhere near your head.
Thats very interesting. I have to say that this channel has made me see what is out there and I have changed how I think fo fragrance. I used to make just for me. Now I have an understanding of what people like so can make fragrance for the people.
Absolutely fantastic in depth review. Your knowledge of fragrance is simply out of this world. My absolute go to guy for future fragrance purchases. I've got both Follow & Unknown pleasures and they are simply the best fragrances on the planet!! Keep us the fantastic work.
I adore this house, it's pricey per bottle but as you say you get a lot of bang for your buck (actually I think they should offer 50ml bottles for that reason, 100ml will last forever). I intend to buy something from them soon, it's either going to be Follow, or perhaps Black Vines. What I like them is that Follow doesn't smell LIKE coffee, it smells OF coffee, like actual high quality beans. Similarly Black Vines didn't smell LIKE licorice, it smells OF licorice, like putting your nose in a big bag of licorice. But then they're not one-dimensional, the dry-down on both is exceptional. Absolutely stunning.
William Mayer I think your getting quality, creatively and a massive fragrance. One to two sprays is enough so the cost is perfect. The choice of raw materials is expensive so I think it’s perfect
@@AaronTerenceHughes Oh it's great value, but I have 80 or so other fragrances on rotation so I'll barely put a dent in a 100ml bottle! If they offered 50ml or 30ml then I'd happily buy several, instead of having to very carefully choose just one.
Just ordered this fragrance, already have Unknown Pleasures which I love !! was unsure about Follow and Wood Haven, but ordered Follow for now. side note every time I wear Slut or Arabica I love it even more ! I'm now getting ready to get a Perfume Marly, reviewing your reviews as I can't make my mind. Thank you for your videos and your fragrances! Love from Ireland !
Holy shit!!! What a review. I'm going to break my rules and blind buy this, coffee, vanilla, musks, leather and frankincense are things I love. Great review Aaron.
I finally received Santal Extreme and let me tell you, it is Extreme, that is extremely creamy sandalwood, a bit spicy, and beast mode! This fragrance rocks! Thank you ATH!
Thank you for your kind words. I really love hearing how much happiness my work brings to people. I want all of mine to be strong and long lasting. Santle extreme was tough to get to project as the amount of sandlewood in it wants to stay flat to the skin and not project.
I hope this doesn't come off creepy, but I just found your channel earlier today and I've been binge watching all your videos. I love how you express the notes and everything beyond just words! Amazing! Your voice is also very calming. Very ASMR. HAHA!
Great review - I've been keen to sample some Kerosene scents - I'm going to bump it to the top of my to-do list; was Black Vines perchance in that sample kit? That's been one of the Kerosenes I've been most interested in as a lover of anise/licorice scents across the spectrum from Azzaro PH to Au Masculine by Lolita Lempicka.
Great review Aaron! I think you are fast becoming one of the best reviewers. It explains why you are so productive if you can function on 4 hours of sleep a night!
Yes. When I develop fragrance I go into 1-2 hours a night. I actually stop eating to. So I get so tired and loose a stone in weight. Its like a hyper creativity mode. Thats why I find fragrance design so tiring. I almost dread it.
I wish you would do a review of Mancera Red Tobacco, would love to here why the opening and dry down is so different. Never came a across a perfume like that one before
Hi Aaron, Nice video, you got me intrigued in this one. I'd like to share my feedback for Animalix : to my nose it smell amazing, I like how it makes me feel to wear it (sweet and smooth, maturity/masculinity), I avoid layering it though because otherwise my mind/nose focuses only on it and not on the other scent. I would definitely need to buy more cause I don't see myself without it.
Defrance Baptiste I’m so supprised it’s smells like it does! I never thought people would get the concept. In fact it’s a constant seller! That was one of the most suprising things ive developed. My actual thoughts were is sell one or two in a year. I think my range is deeply sensual and that I know runs through the entire range!
This is the first time I have seen you remark on a dry down which is idea if warranted as most high caliber fragrances are not what they are meant to be until it develops thus being able to be properly assessed.
Ha ha, you haven't had tinglings in weeks. Me personally I would be interested in the same thing, but with cacao instead of coffee, because I love Dior Homme.
When would it be appropriate to wear a coffee fragrance this strong? I don't wear them but I'm looking at getting one soon but I don't know if I go anywhere it's appropriate to wear one 😅
One - two spray applied in the evening 3 hours before you go out. Its an evening / Autumn / Winter fragrance. Its good for when you want to smell cool. Once the coffee note goes after 3 hours the actual fragrance is exposed and its actually amazing.
Hi Aaron, I don't want to come off as a complainer. I'm from the US and for months now I've been trying to obtain your Oud fragrance, in a fact any of your Oud fragrances lol. At the beginning there were importing problems, and now everything seems to be out of stock everytime I go to your website. I first fell in love with your channel when I watched your fragmental videos when you called out the boringness of Creed Aventus, and then even more with your obsession with Tim Ford on your home channel. Please help in finding a way to get a sample of what you've been producing. Thanks
After what time after the initial smell did you film sensing the smell of the dry down? I'm asking just to find out how to analyze my owned perfumes better
stefanpreda two hours later. And after a shower. Normally I have a shower. Do the review then reshower and go to work. This was the first fragrance I smelt where the dry down was so outstanding! I preferred the dry down as it’s similar to what I try to do. I enjoyed this one massively
Polar opposite. I designed Arabica to be a strong wearable day scent. So mine has the sticking to the skin and trailing behind that is the key to my work. But Arabica is not in your face and if friendly. So is suitable for everyone. The lavender gives it a lovely relaxing edge. The Kerosine one has real attitude and cool fragrance. So its punchy and very strong. Very impressed with this. Loved it.
