Reviewing Reflection 45 Man from Amouage. www.aaronterencehughes.co.uk Instagram - AaronTerenceHughes #FragranceReview #AaronTerenceHughes #Amouage Music: Sleepdebt - I C U
Thank you, Aaron. You're reviews not only give us an honest opinion but you educate us on raw materials to enhance the viewers understanding on how fragrances are constructed!
Aaron I've lately delved into oriental/oud fragrances. I picked up Tom Ford Oud Wood. Love it! However, I just got Versace Oud Noir as well and would love your take on it! Also Daddy by you is on my list as well when I save up a bit more money!
Test strips only ever give an overall impression of a scent. It's always best to try on your skin for the full effect. After all what might smell great on one person might smell far worse on another....Great review again Aaron. Think we all need another Haul comparison with Chris in the near future👍👍
This sounds like a fragrance I'd enjoy, the only amouage I own currently though is epic, and I plan to get my next frangrance from you so reflection 45 gotta wait anyway :P It is hard to decide but now that I noticed forbidden getting discontinued I think I will go for that because it have been one I've looked at for a while, part of what appeals to me about it is that when I read through the notes it reminds me of notorious that I own and enjoy but I imagine a slightly more serious or deeper fragrance that still have a b it of that playful edge that notorious have a lot of if that makes sense, and if so it would be spot on for what I am looking for! Thanks for another quality review =)
Hello Aaron, great video. I have a question if I may - How do you identify if a fragrance contains Pthalates? I have heard these are used frequently in fragrances. Thank you!
Try Black Intense aoud by Montale, you'll be amazed how it reacts on middle eastern skin, esp Montale working for the Saud royal family for over 13 years.. amazed me- just couldn't get it off my skin
I couldn't bring myself to pay for this bottle while creating my small collection. However, we've grown to about 45 bottles and getting decants to try before I buy, especially the expensive niche stuff. Of course when ordering samples I chose Reflection 45. I it yesterday to a store and completely, positively, intoxicated the woman working at the desk. She said "you smell good enough to rob a bank, you could just walk in." She asked me what it was and even had her manager come over to give me an additional 20% off. I was thinking, I don't normally spend $500 on a single bottle but I might if this pays for itself. The opening is strong to me but the way it smells all day is amazing!
Hi Aaron thx for your review, Amouage jubilation xxv is too much earthy to my nose ,what would you recommend to layer with it to reduce the earthy effects? Cheers
Great review! The original Reflection Man smelled good but that was a bit headache inducing to me so i had to sell it. I’m curious about this one but scared at the same time haha. I might have to just stay away
Interesting. It surprises me that the original gave you a headache because even though it lasts long and gives a nice trail it is a soft fragrance and not harsh or something I would associate with giving headaches. You probably should stay away. I tried this one and I preferred the original in terms of smell.
Did you have a bottle of new batch Jubilation XXV or old one? A lot of people complaining that at the moment longevity and silage for Jubilation XXV Man is weak. I buy for my mother Jubilation XXV women, and there is everything ok with longevity.
@@NiKoJlaY Current batch of J25 Man is terrible performance. To the point where if you wanted that profile in a bottle, you should buy Fragrance du Bois "New York Intense". And even that one doesn't perform all that much better. But there has now been a running rumor of Jubi40 for ~9 months (since an event that took place last October) and it is rumored to be releasing this year.
This on is impossible for me to wear. I got a 3 ml sample and sprayed two sprays in the afternoon on my arm. A while later I had a terrible headacheand had to scrub my arm to get off as much of it as possible. Even after shower later in the evening my wife complained I smelled so strong. The next morning i could still smell it. There is something "chemical" in it that just doesnt work for me, I have experienced the same in all of the Montale fragrances I tried as well "oud lemon mint" "red tobacco" "cedrat boisee" and instant crush" all smell the same at the drydown. Not as intense as Reflection 45, but its clearly present and seems to stick on forever.
This has nothing to do with Amouage .. I just have to say I just got a small bottle of Onyx and I’m blown away. I was looking for an Oud fragrance and Onyx has ended the search for me. Amazing amazing stuff thank you ATH
Could you try describing it (onyx) for me? I'm gonna try picking up a bottle or two from Aaron next month and any input or suggestion would be appreciated!
I own the original Reflection. I’ve been wanting to try 45 for a while because of how much Chris raves about it. But even a 2 ml decant is worth more than $20! Luckily I was going through Dubai airport and I got a chance to sample it. It’s Reflection with darker earthy herbal note.
I oversprayed this on my 1st wearing and had to wash it off, that said 45 and the original are 2 of my favourite fragrances in my collection. I really like meander too but that's totally different
The longlasting on this one is outstanding but the sillage is kinda bad, so if you spray 6-10 times you can push the sillage to the max and it will get you more compliments than you can bear
you can certainly find this for around $300usd. ive had it for a couple of months now and its so complex im still not able to totally judge it coherently. you definitely wont offend anyone and you definitely will smell of luxury. reminds me of old school luxury body talc
He gave the original a 10, which I own and find a bit too powdery/floral at times although it's a lovely fragrance. I do find the 45 to be more masculine and although it's strong, it isn't in your face and provides an nice intimate silage. It's expensive but def worth it as it will last you forever as 1-2 sprays and you are good to go. I suppose because Aaron is a perfumer and literally can make what he likes, it's hard to find anything else that he loves. Generally everything is too weak on his skin and now this one is super strong. Just shows how personal a scent is and how it's hard to find the exact scent that both resonates with you and works with your body chemistry unless you make it yourself 😂 Great review as always
Yeah smells like bubblegum and clean linen on my skin sadly. Definitely not for me. Jubilation is my favorite, if they’d make it stronger I’d buy a bottle immediately.
For me, one spray of the normal Reflection is too much. I'm not sure what I would do with that. ....Do you remember the Fabreze commercials from 2011? Maybe some sort of nuclear Fabreze.
I picked up the phone numbers of the negative comments MOMS, on my way to Savers and Bodycare smelling like SYNTHETIC ❤ ALIEN 👽 MAN MIRAGE TO PICK UP PACORABANNE XS... MY SILLAGE DID ALL 😂
Really, it’s strong? Goes to show how subjective performance really is. This stuff is so light and sits close to the skin that I ended up selling it. OG is a better but imo.
In my experience with extraits especially this one, you have to be warm and increase your body temperature for this to truly project. I thought the same as you, sat really close to the skin until I wore it on a warm day!
Clean laundry? It’s so Smokey and woody? :D the original has some kind of nice and clean laundry vibe, but this one? If you do your laundry over open wood fire and rub the clothes with rocks etc. Maby 😂😂😂
Well, it's simple: He is an artist himself, and he can appreciate the craftmanship without liking the scent.. Which makes absolutely sense. If you know the craft you can mark something very high based on your knowledge on how unique or skillful something is, but still not like it because it's not your style and to your taste.
