Pergola 

This project has been floating around in my head for years.. came up with the concept when fooling around with forks while waiting for my food at a restaurant..😂
Decided to go with a hexagon instead of a square to make the structure more circular, and to allow for more spots to hang hammocks and place benches down the road. The geometry for a hexagon is quite satisfying in that the radius measurement is equal to the distance between each post.
Logic told me it should stand, but I had some lingering doubts as the concept of a 10’ long beam structure spanning 19’ just seemed wrong or impossible..
SO satisfying to pull the temporary support and see it stand on its own. Crazy sturdy actually! Was shocked at the absence of any bounce on top when installing the rafters.
Looking forward to many friends and family fire get together as in the coming years under this new pergola. 😁
