My daughter got this at 8 yrs old. Had chest pain and fever. Was misdiagnosed by multiple doctors over several days as it got worse. My wife kept trying different doctors until a Mexican Lady Doctor listened to her little heart minutes before closing the office closed and took some xrays AFTER HOURS. We went to the store and my kid said she felt really bad and wanted to go home. As I opened the door the phone was ringing and the Mexican doctor was calling and yelled for me to take her to Children's hospital Emergency RIGHT NOW!! Emergency heart surgery at St Joseph Hospital in Orange California saved her life. We were later told our little girl wouldn't have made it through the night without the surgery.... I am crying just remembering this... event of 14 years ago... She was a month in ICU and recovered.... They never did know why this happened.... poor little kid...
@@soumyajitpurkait785 Im not sure what the name of the surgery is, but a cardiologist for children performed it. Dr Chui at St Josephs in Orange Ca. 2008
I suffered from a fever than couldnt be brought down by paracetamol, then chest pain when lying down, felt better when sitting up. Went to the A&E, they thought it was just a normal infection, got sent home with antibiotics, tried to sleep but still hurt like mad when lying down, was so painful til i teared up. Went to A&E second time and insisted something was really wrong. Previously googled my symptoms and suspected it was pericarditis and due to the fact I have an autoimmune disease (SLE) the doctor there was rude to us when we say we suspect it was pericarditis, he look offended as if we are questioning his earlier diagnosis, but we remain adamant and continue advocating for ourselves until he finally relent and took us in observation ward for the night, eventually admitted for 6 nights in the hospital after my SPO2 levels dropped to 90! (having shortness of breath) So please, advocate and be firm if you suspect something is not right, it is ok to google your symptoms and voice out any suspicions so the doctors can figure it out/ rule it out. always play it safe and advocate for your self and health!
I was 16 when mine showed up in the late ‘80’s ( aka when it was finally acknowledged) . I had to have surgery 9 months later. Mine was really severe though.
Watching this with 9/10 level pain can’t sleep probably should see doctor but I’m only 24. Felt it the first time at 20 on a ski trip and it ruined the trip. I wish I could get the pericardium removed
@@americaneden3090 one of the takeaways, to use the modern idiom, yes except they are doing it all the time now. "Often" is an adverb so it does not work as an adjective. What's more, it is entirely superfluous to stick "times" onto "often". The word is "often" for Christ's sake and the word "often" means frequently, many times. The last point is that if doctors and scientists are unreliable on grammar, it may undermine trust in their competence so far as scientific precision is concerned.
Got double vaccinated with Phizer , had covid a year after and now 6 months later I have Pericarditis for more than a month, I'm taking Colchicine and I'm fucking suffering , I spend most of the time laying on my bed , if I try to do anything I run out breath and it feels like I'm gonna have a heart attack .
@@ivanperalta1700 I have been taking colchicine for almost 3 months , if the problem persist after I'm done taking all the pills , I might just take Zeolite
I got it after a mild case of covid followed by bronchitis. It was worse than covid! Rest, staying hydrated and Tylenol helped. But when I started to run organic lavender oil and organic castor oil on my chest the pain began to subside. Also taking foods that cause inflammation out of your diet.
