Last night, I was so incredibly moved by Periphery's show that as soon as I got home, I sat down and recorded this arrangement of their magnificently heart-stopping show closer "Lune"! Typically, I try to maintain some emotional distance between myself and the song to perform it better, but having just gone through the experience of hearing it live, I let myself be swallowed up by the emotional intensity of the song, to the point where I actually had to scrap a take because I teared up and missed a key! This take here is the last one I recorded, and so I was a little loopy from tracking this at 4am after a hot and sweaty concert, but I think the emotional thrust of what I was going for came across well in this take, all in all. Hope you guys enjoy! :)
For some reason it sounds like RU-vid's upload compression wasn't terribly kind to the fortissimo sections of this performance... You can download a better MP3 of this performance here: tinyurl.com/ljjveta
