@@cohaagen90 I am a musician and have been for 3 decades. I understand the cost involved hence my comment. Big difference between being a bedroom shredder with quality gear and having a proper in home studio. A difference to the tune of potentially many many tens of thousands did dollars

@@denmun9722 maybe so, but you can still record and mix at a decent quality. Whereas years ago that was basically impossible. You had to have a studio. Now you can get pro quality recordings at home if you invest enough.

In some cases for no more than a couple hundred dollars. Not thousands.

It does, I worked with a C800G a lot and it’s a fantastic mic. The tube needs to be changed pretty often tho (and it’s not easy task), but it’s probably my fav mic. Having said that, you can get many alternatives such a Manley Reference that would cost “only” 2 grands. And finally, for low budget, the mic emulations from Townsend, Slate or even Antelope are also pretty good and could be find in the thousand bucks range. Of course, there’s some compromises at this price, but most people won’t notice a difference. So it’s not impossible for anyone to get a working solution. Of course, if you also made money selling and touring for 3 previous albums, you should go with the Sony C800G :)
