Vanessa you are so tuned into Nature and are so very Respectful to it.. a beautiful way to be.. Thank you so much for bringing us into your relaxing time.. 👌
I will say, I have not seen all your videos so please excuse my question if you have covered it already. For wood cutting, do you prefer an axe or a saw?
In England, we call the birds singing in the morning, the dawn chorus. It's wonderful to know that it is going on continually round the world as we spin.
I'm sure the birds enjoy beginning their day with you as well! They wrote their songs just for you! I hope your nights will be more restful than this one and that you are smiling and content as you go about your day!
A day without a Vanessa bushcraft video is like a day without sunshine. You were very tired in this video and a early sleep was what you needed.Enjoyed this video and always you give little tips on survival. The forest comes alive when you are there Vanessa. The birds sing loudly because they know you are there to keep them company. Look how beautiful you are when you wake up in morning. Ich Liebe Dich Soooo. !!!!
Vanessa... I am only saying what is true. When you are in the forest, it comes alive and is so peaceful because of your love for nature. Ich Liebe Dich Soooo !!!!
Hello from U.S. I found your videos when Lily talked about your book. I hope it comes out in English soon. I started watching bushcraft videos during COVID to learn something new. You and Lily are my forest sisters. So inspirational and educational. You both give me courage to explore. Thank you.
What a pleasure to see you are back! You look fantastic especially knowing what a difficult year it was for you . Hope you feel as good as you look. Take care and keep making more videos.
Thank you, Vanessa. I like your permanent camp. When I was much younger (10 to 15 years of age) I also had a permanent camp in the forest. My lean-to shelter was partially dug into a gentle slope and was high on a hill overlooking the Missouri River. Your camp reminds me of my own.
Great video. I love that you always give back to nature, my heritage is native American and I believe the same way you do. Wish more people felt the same way. Way to often I see a big mess where others have been.
Hi Vanessa, thankyou for letting us accompany you in the beautiful nature for your overnighter in your permanent camp,it's such a lovely place, peaceful and relaxing 👌I hope you have some fun too,and we'll see you in the next video 🙂
My wife of 48 years calls you and your friend Lily my outdoors girl friends. So enjoy the way you treat the nature around you. Be careful and enjoy your wonderful days outside. Will keep watching if you keep making these great videos.
You connect to the wilderness which is what it is all about. I live full time in the wilderness and do what I can for the animals and do not hunt them and trap them down....... Eagle Eric
Hi Vanessa.. Next month i shall be saying goodbye to you. But first i want to thank you for bringing back to me some of my lost memories in what i have been watching in some of your video,s. Yes like you my life has been a struggle since my illness began last year. My bush-craft and wild camping is not going to be over i am leaving where i live soon. My story is long but i know where my future lay,s now. The path,s you take may they be one,s that keep you happy and you have such beautiful children take care of them and carry on teaching them your way,s of life. So once i have gone stay true to yourself and other,s will follow.. Regards Mick from England XOX
Awesome video Vanessa. It's like being there with you in person! Yes Spring time is awesome when the trees spring back to life in the forest. In America I like to go Fishing, Crayfishing and Turkey Hunting in this month of May when all comes back to life. Germany is beautiful place however overbearing with many of the controling laws. That looks like a Silky Saw you are using? You are a pure spirited skilled outdoors woman who knows what you want out of life. That is an awesome creative shelter you build, Ausgezeitnet! I remember my Oma teaching me as a 5 year old boy in 1970 in the attic of the apartment building in Hamburg how to use an Axe to chop Firewood. Those Oma's are tough ladies! Those leaves @ 20:20 sound good nutritious in salad with potatoes etc. Süd Deutsches Kartoffel Salad und Südtiroler Speck ist Ausgezeitnet die beste! Your doing it right cleaning up trash when you come across such bottles cans or plastic bags etc. I do the same. Recycling of trash is good. You leaving a gift for nature is a noble thing to do. Animals recognize this and will at times retun the favior and help when needed. Your book looks interesting I will have to check it out. Wishing you All the best and safe Journeys.
Vanessa thank you for a fantastic video you worked really hard with your amaizing shelter and cleaver ideas tree with branches for holding bottle and mug etc. 🙌
Vanessa, thank you so much for creating these videos. I am learning so much from them. Will definitely pick up your book once the English version comes out. Much appreciation from the US. Take care and stay safe!
Good video! You picked a beautiful area for your permanent camp. The area I really love is the alpine meadow with the weathered cabins (You usually winter camp there). The birds singing at sunrise is a wonderful thing. The only good thing about getting up early....LOL. I think it might be the Lord's way of saying.....I gave you another day......don't waste it! That was a lot of effort you put into completing your bed. I use a short heavy blade (a cleaver like knife) for trimming branches. I find it works better for me than a hatchet. For fire starter, I like a cotton ball with a dab of Vaseline. The cotton ball ignites easy and the Vaseline burns like napalm.....plenty of heat to get your tinder burning, and it's a light carry in the pack. It was nice to see your little bodyguard on this adventure. Stay safe, stay well and .........yep, keep those campfires burning. Love from Pa
Hi Vanessa, I can hear the rumble of distant thunder, and a loud bird chorus, and beautiful drone shots from high above, welcoming me. Beautiful lush green grass, butterflies and bees to welcome the spring. Collecting and cutting so much wood is exhausting work Time to stop and get your fire going, and an interesting wood burning experiment. A great aerial shot of your camp. You looked so comfortable when you awoke in the early morning, but not the sleep you were hoping for! Your camp is a great overnight stay, and your hard work is all worth while for the months to come. I've really enjoyed this overnight stay with your lovely company and beautiful surroundings.💖💗
I too was surprised at how long the birch bark burned and was really impressed by the store-bought fire starter. Vanessa it's almost 5 AM here at my farm in Oklahoma. Sunrise is at 6:30. So, I too will hear the birds soon, and feel the warmth of the morning sun. I know EXACTLY what you mean!😌 May has been more like April here, also. When I started this video and saw it was over 57 min, I thought, "Can Vanessa hold my attention for the whole time?" Well, meine liebe, YOU DID!! I looked up and I was 48 min in, saying to myself "She did it to me AGAIN." DANKE❤🌷🇩🇪🚜🇺🇸Earl
Love love it when you always show different edible plants and different healing plants. You are just so very knowledgeable and I love learning new things. Being Native American I do know a lot of plants but there’s a lot that I still love to learn. This is Meg from upstate New York
Vanessa, Thank you SO VERY much for sharing all your Bushcraft knowledge and experience with us. 💜 you’re an incredible person 💜 My Best Always xx 🚒🚒🚒 Jesse
An excellent outdoor mattress is a tarpaulin thrown over some springy bushes. I remember camping on moorland possibly over heather. Cant remember cos so long ago. The tarp sits on top of the growth and prevents the sticks prodding you. But it also allows you to lay across the springy growth. Anchor the tarp with some ties to stop it moving. Its makes for a very comfortable bed. And its off the ground. In the morning you just move on.
Goood morning Beautiful!! Your video and drone images are astounding as always!! Your book has received the best reviews..!! I am happy for You!! Yes , we see Us again , in the next video.. thank You for Your video!! , and all Your work...
Wild Woman Vanessa👍👍 Nicely filmed adventure, drone is a wonderful tool for video work. Birds singing, weather mostly good and a camp almost ready to spend the night in..sweet. Processing wood can be tedious work, can easily drain energy. Good to see you in the forest again, hoping you feel the nature healing the past and encouraging the future. You have overcome much with more to conquer, the strength is within you to achieve victory. Great video as always. See you soon, take care. Enjoy!
Like I said you are one beautiful person and enjoy your tutoring of forestry. I just wish I could come to your country and do one adventure with you. Just to see the smile nature brings to you. She makes you glow. I am glad you decided to do the click video to warn people. I am ashamed that there are people who are no abusing the gift that nature provides with copycats. I have seen over 60 videos of people copying your videos. And doing things to get people hurt 😢. Spiritually consider me a guardian angel saying a prayer for you eternal. Love you and for your videos. I guess it’s my German blood. For being an African American. Be sweet
Nice to see you back in the woods. You are looking well. The shelter is amazing. So love watching your videos. I am sure I have said before but I just love your accent. Your eyes and smile are fantastic. Look forward to next video. XX
Great trip into the forest, Very nice book, I ordered it anyways even though I can't read it directly but since I have watched most of your video's I can imagine what your saying pretty good. Have a great day !
Hi Vanessa! Refreshing video & solemn serenity😀 in the world we exist in. Ohhh , nice awareness and educational information on what nature provide for medicinal & dietary supplements. Thanks as always you fill our soul sharing your livelihood and adventures! God bless...👏👏👍👍
Oh my God... women like you DO exist! I freaking LOVE you already! I will drag your wood any day ..happy trails, be safe, and thank you for sharing...good informative video
I’m from the swamps of Louisiana. Wet everywhere. I take cotton pads. Put them in a altoid can. Place a tea candle in it. Put it on a low heat. The candle melts into the cotton pads. That is my emergency fire starter. Cajun Nick. P.S. my next project is to do the same with punk wood and bacon fat.
great video vanessa ..awsome fort with a wall for privacy..you keep getting better and better with every video you do..you are very smart with nature and with wild animals..keep up the awsome work vanessa..you are the you tube best....god bless you and your family......gary
Hi Vanessa Congratulations on the camp it looks great and the little dog is in good form wof wof great video and happy and blessed Sunday and family and friends hugs 💐🌺⚘😏🥰👍🍀😁
I have watched many, many of your videos and I enjoy them all. I like the buildings and places you take us to but seeing you arrive at your shelter and start projects, doing bush craft things you then seem the happiest! I think you are truly a woman of the forest 🌲🌲🌲👍🤗🎩
you could put a little charcoal at the base of all the trees to empty your fire pit. they could use it in the long term for food. I know you already know that because you garden ; )
That is a nice bushcraft shelter and it is situated in an area which seem to be safe and protective as well. You put plenty of work into protecting yourself there and I hope your shelter will be protected from the elements as you come back to check it out and campout there.
I lived for two years in Augsburg (over 50 years ago). I seem to remember a lot of rain. My daughter and son-in-law lived near Trier for three years and never mentioned rain.
You aways make every video so interesting and have good views of nature . And the quality is very good. Thanks again for sharing Vanessa. Have a great day 🙂
Another lovely video! As often as I've slept outdoors, it was always difficult to sleep well. Humans get used to a sleep habitat and breaking the routine can be pretty disruptive. It's great that she picks up any trash that she finds!
its nice to see you back in the woods this was a good video like allways like i said before the drone takes your videos to a new level the best part is when you wake up in the morning and its nice to see that you are letting your hair grow back take care
Just discovered you. I love your work ethic. I love the determination. I love the beautiful country around you. I admire your fortitude. Love your accent. I guess..... I love you in general. Good life to you. May your worst be a hangnail. May your best be infinite. ❤️
