No, your hair can be comprised or have highlights/bleached, but without heavy damages, and you can still receive the permanent straightening service (istraight system). It won't affect the split ends. We usually recommend trimming the split ends before going through a chemical service and we would spray the Pure Keratin and B3 Reaction Treatment on hair ends while performing the istraight system. The iStraight System permanently straightens your hair, but when your hair grow, the new growth will still have the same ikd texture you had before, so you can still have your curls, or frizziness.... That's why if you want to continue to keep it silky straight, then the new growth will have to be retouched. Hope this helped a little.

I've done this at home with wella straight tried it for first time by own.. nobody helped and after wash the result was not good... left my hair semi straight and wavy.....
