Interesting. Having been a fan since I was a kid in the 70's, back when every rider had a different number each season and even in the same season with different series, I appreciate the consistency of (semi) permanent numbers.

I don’t know what the pressure is like, etc. I should say, as an adult, that I believe a lot of people lost a lot of respect for him because of numerous instances of bad sportsmanship, cheating, complaining and whining, the green laser incident and the way his family was together during his race days.
