HALLELUJAH You are heaven sent...I am about to start doing permitting in Houston and surrounding areas. Do you hire beginners and train them? I need some mentoring for sure. I already have my company name, EIN, and have taken a course that states I'm a certified permit runner. I'm ready to work and learn. Do you also have a pricing sheet? I reached out to a company and they are asking me for one, but I don't want to overpriced myself out of a job. Thank you.
I have been doing this for about 14 years and I have literally never heard of any one being a certified permit runner. Who did you take this course through. You do not need this to do work in or around this city of Houston. I would tell you to learn the system, get a client and go. The average price for residential is around $575-$1300 depending on the scope of work. Your pricing definetly will depend on your skill levell and willingness to work. Good Luck! You got this!

@@marlenacooper-jones2868 The course is offered by a Notary called Cyan Notary. The course costs $49 and it was a complete introduction to Notary Permit Runner. It just wasn’t a step by step training course like it purports.
I'm curious about something. How do you know when to use a City of......Permit application verses a specific County application? For example, If I need a permit for a building in the City of Oakland Park which is in Broward County..Do I fill out a city or county permit application?
Most Permits are specific to the location but many of the processes are the same. I would make contact with someone there and get there name so that you can start to reference a name when you speak to people. Familiarity is Key!
Do you need to be registered as an authorized agent or have a document signed by the homeowner to prove your the agent ? I’m in Florida . I will be pulling permits on behalf on the contractor

Hey! If you are are doing this for a house then you need to submit a residential building permit along with a spec and repair form for the things you listed. If you are replacing windows then you need a Res check (video coming) is this project in the flood?
Hello! It is great to see another woman in construction. I am trying to get a permit for a pool , I have almost everything done except for three things that are killing me to figure out 1) Single Family Residential R,O.W Ditch connection Complied with previous reviews cycles comments. 2) Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPP) Prevention Plan Detail (DWG No. 01571-01) in your plan. 3) DETENTION COMPLIED with previous cycle comments however a cross-section od the detention are is required (Show ESE) Am I over my head? Any advice would help. Thank you!!
If the pool is not near the front the property you should not be worried about the ROW unless your current drainage is going into the street. How large is the property that you are trying to put the pool on over an acre? Do you have a site plan? If the city is asking you for a SWPP and detension you will need to connect with a civil engineer. If you would like to provide more specifics on this feel free to shoot me an email.
