Thanks. Yeah tried to think about differences between the 2 if someone is deciding to buy one or the other, as some people might like the sirions layout or the myvi’s layout. Yeah thanks for letting me show the car 🙏🏼
There are a lot of differences between the two. The Daihatsus are much better built, even down to how the interior door cards are fitted (door pull supports, sound deadening inserts, how many trim clips used etc). The bumper material on the Myvi is very very fragile. Even things that should be identical, like the passenger air bag are slightly cheaper on the Myvi (resulting in an annoying dash rattle). The suspension specs on the Daihatsus is better for road driving, the arb bushes and drop-links on the Myvi are cheaper parts and wear very very quickly. Headlining covering is pvc rather than material. I could go on for ages listing all the bits. Lots and lots of little things all to build the Myvi cheaper.
Fair enough. Didn’t realise there was so many differences. My car has been family owned from new and nothing has worn out yet apart from the usual stuff like batteries, tyres, bulbs, breaks, etc
No no the Myvi and Sirion’s 1.3 and 1.5 are from Daihatsu (K3VE is the name of the 1.3) The 2SZ-FE from Toyota is almost identical but not the same some little improvement here and there. The K3VE have peak torque at 3600~ rpm where the Toyota one is like 4400rpm IIRC.
As far as I know they are the same. But eBay is your friend. There is loads of people breaking myvi’s on there. I’m sure one of them will be able to help you out
No the myvi glass doesn’t fit. It’s larger than what you’d find on the sirions, though you can swap the entire side mirror assembly over from the sirion.
K3-VE is a Daihatsu engine used by Toyota!! It's used on Daihatsu Terios J102 and J2, on Daihatsu YRV M2 and on Dahatsu Sirion M101 & M111 as K3-VE2 with 102hp. Also those engines came form a Daihatsu motor factory! Toyota bought Daihatsu for that reason! Because Daihatsu had a motor factory that build motors from 600cc up to 1.6cc!! So yeah, even the 3SZ 1.5cc is a Daihatsu motor build by a Daihatsu factory and used by Toyota and unfotunatly went down in history as a Toyota engine. The same as K3 and 1KR... but those motors who didn't end up in a toyota, like the EJ-DE, EJ-VE etc are Daihatsu's motors.... right... WAIT!!! wait, wait... Daihatsu Sirion M1 1.0cc, also known as Daihatsu Storia 1.0cc in Japan, with the EJ-DE and EJ-VE motors, was also manifactured by Toyota as Toyota Duet with the same motors... Does that dub the EJ motors as toyota's motors?
Only way would be to disconnect the the speaker for the parking sensors or the parking sensors completely. If you need help join the Perodua Myvi/ Daihatsu Sirion/ Subaru Justy Owners Club UK group on facebook and someone should be able to help you out
Yeah, its hard to get used parts. There a couple of people that break myvi's here for parts but they normally only break base model's and don't sell what your after most of the time. Yeah from Malaysia it cost me £40 shipping for my clutch cable, so I can imagine other parts are a lot more.
