I really appreciate this video. I taught myself how to clean carpets by watching tube. I started my business with almost no experience. Two years later I’m making 80k a year. It’s people like Corey that made this possible. What would be great is if you would do a white board video on VLM cleaning and chemistry. Cover all the basics of VLM, chemistry, pricing and stain removal.

Hi carpet muscle. can you explain in what circumstances 20% peroxide can be used and when not to use it. I am going to get some 6 and 20 % but am a bit nervous about using 20. If you could explain that would be very much appreciated. Happy new year.

Thanks for the videos. I wanted to ask? Do you need to extract the peroxide out the carpet after applying it to the stain? If you leave it in the carpet is there not a chance it will bleach the carpet? Also what % of peroxide should be used for stains? does it matter what type of peroxide? Thanks

Hey Corey what can be added to Peroxide and Ammonia to have a nice scent? Ammonia have a strong smell most customers compaint on the smell. Peroxide do not have scent so they ask something would make their carpet smell nice.

Hi, your videos are really informative - thank you. Can you please tell me if the peroxide and ammonia solution is still effective on old blood stains? My son had a nosebleed on our cream carpet and I used a salt wash at the time but it’s left a dark stain which won’t come out with conventional carpet cleaner either. Many thanks, Rachel

Yes. Peroxide alone will do this. You can add a little ammonia to boost it. Just spray and move it through the fibers gently.

Hello. I have a question for the community. I have a big grout and tile job coming up. 1500 Sf restaurant kitchen with 7 years of gunk in the grout. They also want the 10 foot tile walls cleaned. (Im assuming I will just wipe those down. Grout is fine) I’m a VLM cleaner with an Orek XL and a 175. I’ve never cleaned anything other than a residential kitchen and bath. My questions are: 1. what is the best and most affordable tile and grout cleaner? 2. How should I price this job? 3. What attachments,tools should I use? Thanks in advance!

Hello Corey can you tell me if distilled water will make 35% hydrogen peroxide more effective? Are can you use it straight for carpet spotting? Would like your option.
@CarpetMuscleTV
@CarpetMuscleTV 2 года назад
I would not recommend using 35%. It’s your option. 6% to 12% is all I use. If 12% won’t fix it then it needs to be patched. Distilled water would make a detergent more effective because a lower ph would be more effective in distilled water. Peroxide doesn’t have a ph so it wouldn’t come into play

@@CarpetMuscleTV so 12% can be used straight correct?
@CarpetMuscleTV
@CarpetMuscleTV 2 года назад
@@ulyssesbullock9979 i do if it’s really difficult. Most of the time i use straight 6% to spot urine. Volume 20 is 6% volume 40 is 12%. 35% would blind you if it splashed into your eye. 6% can be painful when it starts eating away at your fingers. Use caution ⚠️
@CarpetMuscleTV

Is ammonia and 20 volume safe on wool carpet?
@CarpetMuscleTV
@CarpetMuscleTV 4 года назад
William Luu Truthfully no. Peroxide is damaging to wool or cotton and the ph of ammonia is too high. I have always gotten away with is due to doing vlm and getting a quick dry time. Once dry peroxide is non reactive and ammonia goes neutral. So you shouldn’t go over around 8 or 9 on wool safely but I get away with it regularly.

William Luu I don’t have a video on it specifically. It is rare that you run across wool carpet. Rugs are more common in the 300$ range. I will have to try to cover it at some point. Please feel free to remind me if I don’t cover it soon

Hey Corey. Is your Ammonia 25% strength? Would you dilute 25% strength if using as a spotter?

I spot with straight ammonia. I am not sure what the potency is coming off the shelf. Top job Home Depot or Walmart all sell decent quality ammonia.

@@CarpetMuscleTV Thanks mate, I'm based in Australia and most of the clear ammonia is 25%. No problem, I will dilute to begin with then work it up from there. Same with peroxide, it's a whopping 50% here, but will dilute to 6% for spotter and 20% for prespray. Thanks again.
