Perperikon - Перперикон, Eastern Rhodope, Bulgaria 

This is a Medieval Fortress dates back to VІ - XІV centuries, located 15km northeast of town of Kardzhali, on a 470m high rocky hill. This is one of the biggest Rhodopian fortresses (occupies area of 12 000 square meters). The complex is composed by: a palace - temple dating from VІ - V centuries before Christ, a fortified Thracian fortress, a settlement and a circular occult temple. It is believed that there was located one of the capitals - residences of the Thracian kings. The palace was a Г-shaped with 3-4 floors and 40 rooms. Two of the corridors and 13 premises are well preserved.
