I would definitely be interested in watching you dissect each chapter and discuss amongst the three of you what your opinions and experiences are.

All in on you guys debating the merits of various points of improvement. I get value out of hearing you opinions when they differ and knowing where you don't differ. Keep up the great work! Oh and I'm anxiously awaiting my preorder delivery of the book. Oh and I'm definitely joining the dojo, maybe before my free trial runs out....because I have to see what things I'm missing

Man, I usually like ChessDojo content but that is not a good book review. Come in here expecting to get to know more about the book but half of the content talks about their own their Dojo Training Program. Moreover, the title of this video is misleading, this isn't a book review, it's more like recommendation to their program. I do get it, ChessDojo want more people to sign up to their program and I wholeheartedly agree but then again, aren't we discussing about a book review here? Left disappointed and I still really don't know anything more about the book from this review.

This is a good point, but at the same time I think of this as a hot take review where something meta occurred that Jesse got excited about (in this case how the growth of the podcast inspired the book and inspires him both at work in chess and hobby in health and fitness). I think Jesse is excited about what he's read so far and is interested in the applicability of some of its ideas to his stuff (Chess Dojo), so it is a review in that sense, but maybe not as much in the sense of should we buy it and what would we get out of it as a target audience for the book. My guess is further discussions of the book which he wants to get into with his fellow streamers could help answer the latter, just not in this review beyond that he recommends it.

The same thing happened in history: from the history of famous people to the history of ordinary people.

As a Fitness Pro and chess Amateur I can tell you, it's going exactly the Same: the more money you spend on it and the more you overthink instead of just start and give it your best the less likely you'll get anywhere😉

If Kraai has a millon fans I’m one of them If Kraai has 10 fans Im one of them If Kraai has 1 fan I’m him If Kraai has no fans I’m dead Lol anyways, one correlation that I find between the influencers of both fitness and chess is that everyday joes (like me) get obsessed with finding the optimal way to do anything. In my humble opinion, the best training routine is that one that you do consistently. Anything done by the pros is not sustainable by people with other priorities and will therefore not be done.

adults don't improve in chess as much, only the *desire* to improve - that keeps the chess economy alive - openings, books... Ben had many guests on his show like Luka or Neal Bruce, their flat rating growth tells the story

define "much". btw, do you think Hikaru improves much?

Improvement in chess ALWAYS (at any level) happens through deliberate practice. 99% of adults don't want to deliberate practice because it's not fun.

Luka and Neal are both sitting on about a 1400 Blitz rating which is kinda shocking given they study like crazy.

Hello, I'd like to thank you for all the good chess material you put out here and I'd like to ask you for advice for a book. I am attacking/technical player with strength of 2200 fide. But my defensive skills are pretty bad. Do you know about a book with puzzles, or positions in which you are slightly or just worse and you're supposed to find the best defense. I tried studying games of Petrosian but he mainly solves his issues with chenging the type of game to more calculative and that is not what I am looking for. Thank you very much in advance, it would help me a lot in the future

I find the fitness comparaisons by Jesse funny because him and I are basically flipped, I am very confident in my ability to coach fitness and also a chess chump.

3 hours drive to/from work every day made more pleasant by Bens podcast. I think there only was like 2 episodes i didnt listen to of the +500. And that was deliberate because of a guest i dont like listening to.

I like your channel, and I like the work you all all put in, but that wasn't a good book review. That was a recommendation without a review. Talking about how it impacted you to the point that it makes you think about adjusting the dojo's approach is interesting, and would be a good tie in to the review, but it isn't a book review, which is what I was looking for based on the title. I really don't know anything more about the book from this review.
