This is one of the most unique operating changers I have ever seen. Great restoration project. I have a late 1950's Perpetuum changer, but it is nothing like this. Very nice and very unique collectors item.
Hello. Fantastic record player you have. I also have one but I think mine may be a earlier one than yours. It is polished alloy and looks like something from Metropolis. It does to an extent operate and may only need setting up by someone who knows the unusual mechanism. It will need a new power cable and a extension speaker as does not have one built in. It is the most beautiful record player I have possibly ever seen and I see and get a lot as do home clearance work. I will be listing it for sale on Ebay UK in second week of April so if you want another to add to your collection keep checking on Ebay :) Cheers, Jon
Congratulations with your collection it is overwhelming! Always thought PE was the inventor of the spiral changer, what is the brand mark of the spiral changer in your video?
BEAUTIFUL DECO CLAMSHELL DESIGN BUT YEA IT SEEMS LIKE THEY TOOK THE LONG WAY HOME HERE DEF WASTED MOTION BUT IT DOES IT IN SUCH A SHOWY WAY i'D BLOW A FEW BUCKS ON ONE IF i SHOULD EVER FIND ONE (DOUBTFULL)
To quote Yoda......when 800 years old you will be, look this good you will not!!! It's an old changer......we didn't have hi-fi in those days. We were lucky to have any kind of 'fi' at all!!!😉😉😉
I like watching it, but I know this unit distroys your record disk collection, the heavy tonearm and needle which is nail like, is abrasive on the disk, and wears them out. The auto is not kind to disks from watching it. Too bad, it looks real interesting.
