So after a 5 month wait for the right party and working through our backlog in games... we played Perseverance Episode 1 for the first time... What an incredible game this is. It's combination complexity and fun is mindblowing. Everything infuences everything. There's so many ways to manipulate the game. Especially near the end, it can get really nasty. Defending together, but just letting some dino's breach to crash opponents... A real balancing trick. Simply genious. The production quality is beyond anything I've ever played. This is a piece of art. Bravo Mindclash Games! I'll be collecting Mindclash Galmes going forward :)
Another brilliant video Paul, another game where I was overwhelmed by the amount of components, rules and icons. As ever Paul delivers a brilliant, clear and concise how to play video which and can't wait to play it.
Hi Paul excellent video as usual! Quick question, i can’t find the answer to this and you dont cover this either : on the player aid under secondary action C and D there is a symbol for an additionnal valor / safeguard. The sumbol is not in the rulebook but specified in the special power Phoenix jas. Thank you!
I don't have the card with me, but I think that just means that you get either 1 valor / 1 safeguard for placing a mini in the defense area (as you normally would for placing a mini there)
Thats the confusin part, in the rulebook under the special power it’s specified that the symbol means +1 val/sg but the same symbol is not covered in the secondary action section. I think this is really a mistake either on tue player aid or rulebook
Hi, great video! I have two questions after watching it. Can I send my leader to another position in my next turn or he is stuck to the place I put him until the assembly? And what if I assign him to the dino area, does he stay there until end of the game? And the second question. The patrol cards are evaluated after my next turn right? Not in the end of the current one
Leaders placed in the settlement area cannot be moved (unless you have an ability that moves them). Leaders placed in the dinosaur area are returned when a combat in that area is resolved. I THINK I say this in the video somewhere :) As for Patrols, this is explained in the Patrols section of the video - they happen after your secondary action - in the same turn.
I played this in Essen and ever since I've been trying to buy it without having to transport the game all the way from the US. I'm still waiting for them to start offering it in the EU so I can immediately buy it!
I haven't played this since a TTS match during the KS campaign. I'm going to try and play a 2P game (with my actual copy) with my wife in the next day or so. Thanks for the video!

Oh man, thank Paul for the explanation. I can't wait for my game to finally arrive. I really need to get this to the table.
Waiting for my shipping notification soon. I like the rewards board better now as it can all happen simultaneous and not being blocked from a specific reward. I love Mindclash and all their games. They always have many decision points through the game and everything is very thematic. Their solo games always play great too. Thank you Paul for this great resource. Episode 2 should be fun.
another pretty solid game from Mindclash and a spectacular tutorial as usual 👍 The game doesn’t quite hit my taste but the design looks pretty brilliant
You state that leaders are removed from defence areas after an attack, but after an assembly they stay where they are. So I'm assuming that they stay in the defence area potentially forever unless an attack is triggered? But they're recalled from the 4 other areas every assembly.
I just received my game last week, can't wait to play it... Thanks for the tutorial. I can' t imagine starting such a heavy game with only the rulebook :)
Great video as always - We were able to watch and then immediately play with minimal use of the rulebook - impressive. One thing we were wondering: What is the purpose of placing the defeated dinosaurs in front of your player mat? They don't appear to affect the attack rewards and, as far as we can tell, aren't used as a tie breaker or really for anything. Why don't they just go straight back to the supply?
Absolutely superb video Paul, I’m just learning this game myself and having watched the live Playthroughs and your Solo play through I did miss a few things which you covered in this video. Appreciate the amount of time and effort that must’ve gone into making this, thank you so much.
I watched this video twice in a row to confirm my takeaway, and it is this: the game looks like a hot mess. A collection of disjointed resource conversion mechanics that don't seem to cohere into a fun game. Perhaps I'm wrong, perhaps I'm not-we'll see once I receive my copy. But I just basically lost all of my enthusiasm for this.
If you haven't watched Heavy Cardboard or Gaming Rules playthrough I would watch some of those videos to get a better sense of the gameplay. It's a thematic euro so it will have resource conversion but the choices really make the game shine.
