As a Lebanese, I see Iranians as strong lighthearted beautiful people who hope and desreve to be free. 💚🤍❤️ It shatters and pains my heart to see the Beautiful, most hospitble people suffer in the hands of an evil regime, I've even had the honor to work alongside many Persians Being Iranian is a honor, Even thogh i'm Afghan, I see Iranians as the golden heart id the world. There is nothing "cringe", "stupid" or "wrong" about this as some seem to think in the comments. Many many people from Iran and of Iranian heritage feel the need to dissociate themselves from the current government of Iran that has existed for 40+ years. As with many revolutions, there was a lot of diversity in Iran's revolution - in the end, it was a huge mistake that ended in the wrong people gaining power and its common for "elders" in Iranian communities to talk about the regret and what seemed like a sudden taking over of Iran by the islamic regime. Plenty of muslims who immigrate to the west often talk about how they feel like they need to "constantly condemn" terrorists and islamic fundamentalists. How is this any different? Iranians are often treated the same, and when we maybe don't even consider ourselves muslim we feel the need to explain to people there is zero support from us or our families along with many Iranians inside Iran and out towards the islamic regime. Of course the country had problems when the Shah was there, however, if people understood how harsh the government treats all its citizens you wouldn't be making stupid comments about Iranians trying anything to distance themselves by methods such as using the pre-revolution flag of Iran. Most Iranians in the diaspora still have 50% or more of their relatives living in Iran. A majority of the people themselves love and respect European and American culture/people. If there is a country that needs a PR campaign for its people I would suggest North Korea, although, South Korea is very respected so in that case I'd say Iran/Iranians - This event makes perfect sense.
