As a senior music major in 1975 I directed this piece with the Oklahoma State University band as a graduation requirement. This rendition really brought back some wonderful memories.
It's a beautiful song played beautifully, but the third trombone part is a bit of a snoozefest. It has its moments, but it's still a bit of a snoozefest.
Maybe by the time you've reached your 20th birthday, you'll have developed some taste and discernment. By the looks of your English compositional skills, that day appears to be some ways off.
We played this and I LOVED IT! It's soooo beautiful! Being a trumpet I especially love the trumpet parts, even more so at 6:16 (duet!). The only part I didn't like is that our band director wrote it "PSAlM FOR BAND" (lower case "L").
Playing this in my highest hand at my high school as a freshman trumpet (2nd freshman trumpet ever to be in highest band, though I’m not good I just tried out lol). It’s a good song, hope we win ISSMA
