Recently wowwed by this beaver meadow in #easternoregon, flash grazed twice/ year with the rest of the year for beavers who irrigate the pasture further. This meadow stays wet year round even in a D4 drought year.
Willow is the primary beaver forage source here, trees/shrubs number in the thousands, not just hundreds. Thousands of established trees is the amount of forage that beavers need for long term, persistent site occupancy.
