Shaw is most likely alive. The showrunners made it end open-ended, so that once the actress gives birth (she is pregnant of twins, the whole reason they made thing this way) and feels comfortable returning, they'll probably find a way to get the character back. :)

I don't know I think not because hell you hear the shot in the head , and even if you didn't she took 3 shots!!! but maybe they will find a away but it won't be realistic in my mind , someone in that position is good as dead!!!

Well, it's obviously up to speculation, and everyone's opinions are valid. ;) I do think, however, that it is actually quite reasonable to think that Shaw is alive. I mean, the Machine had cameras inside the building, so it would know Shaw's fate. Unless... Samaritan agents started shooting the cameras (hence the shot after the elevator doors close, which could be directed at a camera and not at Shaw). Not only that, but Team Machine had just prevented another of Samaritan's plans, so I imagine he is getting quite frustrated by them, and would do anything to get rid of them for good. Shaw captured alive is so much more valuable than dead, so why waste such a good opportunity for gathering intel? And last, and take into account that this one is pure speculation, we can always count that Martine might be more than she appears to be. There are subtle hints at that (in the simulation where Root dies, even the Machine simulates Martine as hesitating a fraction of a second before shooting, and the Machine knows a lot more than us about everyone, whe was there before the Samaritan was online, so she might know more than him too), so, who knows? Maybe there is more there than meets the eye. But maybe this is just me in stage of denial. Whatever, I prefer to believe she is still alive. :D
