I remember Shaw conversation with the psychiatrist (in the middle of season 3), where he tried to explain to her the difference between fixing and healing. The Machine healing, Samaritan fixing. Crazy episode! The showrunners did a very good job of outlining the themes of the next ~20 years.

That's cool, Samaritan really feels cold and heartless where as The Machine feels more caring in a way, despite being not human. Yea it's so good, loving every episode :)

Finch gave Elias "The Invisible Man" by H.G. Wells as a hint to disappear and keep out of site of Samaritan. Elias gave Finch "Twelve O'clock High", a story about a US Bomber Commander during World War II and his struggles to complete his assignment despite the cost of lives of his men. In war sacrifices must be made.

The show never shies away from big ideas. Samaritan is worried about the "Great Filter" From Wikipedia: The Great Filter is the idea that, in the development of life from the earliest stages of abiogenesis to reaching the highest levels of development on the Kardashev scale, there is a barrier to development that makes detectable extraterrestrial life exceedingly rare. The Great Filter is one possible resolution of the Fermi paradox.

Simulation or not, I don't see why Lambert would think that Shaw wouldn't shoot him. I'm not sure if it's surprising that this came out before Covid or if something like this could only have aired in a pre-Covid era🧫
