Scenes like this is why Person of Interest was one of CBS's best shows. The show started off as somewhat typical procedural and eventually became so much more than that.

@Jinzo-dy3th 6 лет назад
so bummed the writers decided to kill off everyone off and shortened the series.
@mymadcatdiary2957
@mymadcatdiary2957 5 лет назад
Jinzo 2400 CBS shortened the series because they wouldn't order more than 13 episodes for s5. The writers did the right thing by recognising they should take that opportunity to conclude the story.
@Jinzo-dy3th
@Jinzo-dy3th 5 лет назад
@@mymadcatdiary2957 That was because ratings were sharply declining,most fans point out the fact that the show killed off way too many important characters that viewers had a vested interest in.....the show ended way before its time.
@mymadcatdiary2957
@mymadcatdiary2957 5 лет назад
Jinzo 2400 no, CBS weren't making enough money because the show was owned by WB. It's only because WB negotiated with CBS for a short final season that POI had a chance to wrap up the story. It had nothing to do with any fan reaction positive or negative to any character(s) (though I'm sure that people only ever mean Carter) dying. Ratings declines year to year were 32 & 2% for s3&4, slightly average to slightly above average. They were not "falling sharply".
@Gigator
@Gigator 5 лет назад
@@mymadcatdiary2957 Thank you, exactly! PoI was a critical success and ratings wise was very decent. The production was owned by another studio, so CBS was not making a lot of money from it, compared to productions that were in house. Carter is the only major character I remember being killed that was a loss and sort of sudden (at least prior to the end of S05). The others (government guy in the nuclear reactor, Mark Snow, Kara) felt earned and like they played their part well and to the end. And regarding Joss Carter, Taraji P. Henson wanted to leave PoI so she could do other things (Empire for example). All I have heard about it was that they parted on good terms and it was a mutual decision. So you can't really fault the writers for that one alone.

@mish375
@mish375 3 года назад
The Root Shaw thing felt like bad fanfiction to appease the fanboys on the show. Shaw was a bland and unlikeable character the entire time. Why she was a main character and not Elias is beyond me. And Root was mentally unstable and abusive - while they managed to make her a complex character, she shouldn't have ever been in a relationship with anyone. The first 3 seasons had great writing but from 4 onwards it went downhill.

@@ofsevim JJ Abrams isn't exactly the benchmark of great creativity. He's decent, but gets too bogged down in making things look cool and PC to appease the executives that ultimately his work suffers from it. One of the best eps of POI. Jim Caviezel is a brilliant actor, deserves every award going.
@keithdean9149
@keithdean9149 4 года назад
Unfortunately, I have to say no. Jim Caviezel is a devout Christian and will not do sex scenes. Watch him in this series and in "The Count of Monte Cristo," every time his character is supposed to have sex they do a cutaway and if he is shown in bed with a woman there is always something, sheets usually, placed between them. That would not work for Bond. I've heard they are working on a sequel to "The Passion of the Christ" and he will again be portraying Jesus.
@whooziss

@@keithdean9149 He will not only not do sex scenes, but as i have read he will not do anything wich does not conform with his faith, even simple kissing secenes are really hard for him apparently. I can imagine with these "limitations" there are extremely few big budget roles out there where he can make himself known. I think he was really good in this role, but I have a feeling he wouldn´t be as good in other roles, because I don´t think i have ever seen him as anthing other than stoic calm. Hi,... believe it or not there are people like this out there,.... I've worked with several. They are the types that would give their lives for what they believe, for what they protect, and for what they care about (which so often is everyone). They are skilled, but prudent, and would never harm an innocent person (or even an animal,... I've seen that first hand). For any who doubt, there are tens of thousands in National Cemeteries (such as Arlington). This 'breed' is not foolish or callow in any way. It is the type that protects and cares for the less capable while relying on the skills of those that can fill the 'gaps'.

Watched this program front to back on netflix with my partner, often riveted and up too late. We were glued to it because of the acting, the writing, the feasibility of the plot lines, and the side bar plots and human interest involvements. Every once and not so often something would get bent out of line and not make as much sense as it could have, but overall this 5 seasons ended way too soon for us. Root and Shaw need honorable mention with the rest of the cast but a half a blink behind for a very provocative and impactful presentation. Give it 6 or 7 stars if we could.

Although I liked this clip I sure would have liked to have heard the "conversation" he had with the guy in the back of the van.
