@@vroomy2136 yeah, in P1 the closest thing to an "Almighty" element are some physical skills that deal "Special" damage, but are gimmicky and kind of weak at the point you obtain each of them In P2 Megido, Zan and Gry deal Almighty, but "Almighty" in those two games are considered a magic-type element so they can be null/ref/drained by enemies that have blanket magic resistance anyway (on the flipside there are enemies with magic weakness so 👀)
Since there isn’t a once more or press turn system in P1&P2, almighty ends up being just another element. In P2 one of the characters ultimate personas actually reflects all magic including almighty and is weak to all physical. It’s wild
I.... think it’s her skirt waving from the magical wind that always blows from underneath whenever someone uses magic... But if you see twerking then you do you
At least Nemesis and Hypnos looked better back then. Only Thanatos got an upgrade in the visual department. Those two got a downgrade, and their poor sister Eris never showed up at all....
You can tell this game was still meant to be a pure spin off of Shin Megami Tensei. There's a Yuriko, You fight demons not shadows, and your main goal is to save a girl you know and awaken her true self, like in SMT your goal is to "revive a godess to her true form".
@@RisottosWife I mean, how the P1 and P2 characters interact with them is through calling them demons, so it's an apt comparison even if shadows and demons and gods and personas are all conceptual entities created metaphysically by Humans and the Axiom.
I don't consider one better than the other, but Bloody Destiny becomes annoying after you hear it a lot of times. The original one is instrumental and darker, so it depends on your taste.
in p1 and p2 megidolaon counts as nuke damage like frei lol but it's still the most powerful spell in the game tho edit : powerful only at p1, for p2 the most powerful stuff is fusion spells like grand cross or smth
On 8:46 That day....that one moment.... Ayase has just burned the ever living hell out of Nanjo by saying "No wonder you still don't have a girlfriend"
Hypnos Tower and Nemesis Tower made me play a bit more cautious, but felt like I was back in the Sebec Route. Thanatos Tower though, had me dying a bunch of times before or as I reached the second floor. I did eventually just get lucky one run and didn't get insta-killed by the enemies, but I did have to go back and forth from Tartarus because the enemies would kill one of my members. I finally made it to the top floor, but Brown got screwed over and I was right there at Thanatos' door, so I just went in and had Brown help without his Persona. Didn't have that bad of a battle, but I could not have imagined dying and restarting everything.
Yet more proof (as if we needed any) that from the very beginning, Persona's music has always slapped harder than Demi Fiend did when he pimp slapped the ever-living dog sh*t out of the 9 fiends, the Great Will and Lucifer himself back in the OG Shin Megami Tensei games (and that game's music was absolute fire, too 💯🔥🔥)
Persona 1 prior to the psp remix had several boss themes, but this remakes cuts out a lot of the soundtrack so this one gets reused quite a bit. also they changed mechanics of the psp version a bit that makes grinding more necessary.
It's up to you which one you want. The real problem is there is no good port outside of the original Japanese psx copy because every other port removes, changes or ignores the point of why mechanics were the way they were the first time. Really they all undermine the game with the psp port being the biggest offender in ruining the sound design, exploration, and reducing battles that you need to level in my eyes. Revelations just named everything wrong and cut snow queen.
Oh wow, a female character has more HP than the rest of the team IN A MEGATEN GAME Neat, I always hated how it was handled in other games like Earthbound (still a good game)
Whoa it is that Mandatory to have specific Ma Dyne Skills on every alliies? I saw Ooingo Boingo Brothers doing that too Teaching Lilim Megidolaon Teaching Pixie Megidolaon Teaching Urvashi Mabufudyne And the one You-Know-Who Teaching Maragidyne. oh and Maziodyne on You-Know-Who. Mega Ice all .Wow if i got that right in american version.
P1 EXP system is based on doing things during a battle, such as healing, buffing and doing damage. Being alive at the end of a battle gives you a bonus, but you still gain EXP from doing things during a battle
To expand on the previous comment, stuff like healing when everyone's at full and using buffs that don't impact the battle (like using Tarukaja without ever using physical attacks) still award Persona Exp, but not the normal counterpart. And in general, Exp gained in battle is given out based on how much someone contributed in battle. Hence how this game can be broken into pieces when someone, like say...Ayase gets access to Yatagarasu, letting her one shot everything in her path and getting all of the Exp.
I am personally happy that you didn't Choose Elly and Brown for the Snow Queen Quest like the vast majority of LPS of this quest. I mean, I know why they almost always choose those two, but I like that you mixed it up and showed a lot of what Nanjo's lines are in this quest. I chose Nanjo and Elly as well.
Are you freaking serious?! You didn't take Hidehiko with you? During my snow queen playthrough I took Hidehiko and Eriko with me. Unlike you Buff, I chose for Kei Nanjo to sit his ass in the nurses office.
You may have already found out, but in this game, you use certain items when fusing a new persona, and there are certain tablets that will grant the new persona an extra spell. In this case, Fuutai was fused with a flash stone.
Not crapping on the remake, but THAT Bossfight theme does not get me tense and dreading the boss. It kinda fits with dealing with a Mean Girl that needs some discipline, though Also hearing the party member I didn't get "Here, Personey!" Yeah, the Standsina joke is pretty accurate. XD
