@@metalheadmaniac8826 I mean, I wouldn't really say the MCs count? You really don't do anything with your lovers once you date them. And nothing in the dialogue changes to make it specifically romantic.
@@CJZombie Well, there are several events for the girl (or *girls* if you even dare to cheat on them) that you date, such as Valentine's Day in Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5. There are more scenes other than that too, but I still wish there were a few more scenes.
Note that Junpei was so fucking furious that he, the token comic relief, had a power surge so absurdly strong that it is normally reserved for the player character.
He one shotted Jin who actually REPELS fire and he did it with fire lmao. He was so angry that he actually broke through type resistances and in the manga version he had both of them on deaths door before Yukari snapped him out of it and healed them. Like Takaya and Jin were fucking roasted and would’ve died had she not intervened.
@@niyol8982 Another fun fact, Junpei is the ONLY persona character that has been able to fuse his persona with another like he does when Chidori dies without Igor’s help. He also gained passive regeneration from this fusion along with other stuff which probably puts him head and shoulders above the other SEES members too. Dude has absolutely crazy feats for someone that isn’t the protagonist
@@TheAzuregreen He's not just resistant to fire, he repels it, in normal circumstances it would have been suicide, but Junpei didn't give a shit, he literally broke Jin's fire repel, and if you listen with loud enough volume you can hear Jin's cry of pain, it fucking hurt.
@@elainehelmont4647 Door-Kun and Shinji are already enough to convey that theme of the game. Her revival is also not dependent on your sex unlike Shinji, whose survival would actually take away from the game's theme. Also, in P4AU it is heavily implied she's alive as Junpei has a dream of proposing to her, which would be quite nonsensival were she dead as he didn't even shed a single tear after realising he was only dreaming. He is also wearing a necklace in the game that Chidori gave him as a present, something that didn't happen in Persona 3. Considering this it means he would have received this gift after the ending of Persona 3 and before the beginning of Ultimax, which means she is alive canonically. Shinji and Makoto/Minato I agree though. They need to stay dead. Btw I already had an answer written but accidentally closed my RU-vid tab before posting it. 😤
@@hoshueyeplopper4465 And even then there's still a "death" with Chidori even if she lives. She doesn't retain the memories of when she had her Persona. She's not herself completely.
The way she softly says "Jun...Pei..." After he gets shot brings a tear to my eye. In a game with questionable voice acting that line really stood out to me, props to Chidoris VA and to Vic for doing excellent at portraying Junpei especially in this scene
This game has godlike voice acting, especially for a niche game from 2006. Of course Fuuka and a lot of the minor characters (like natsuki) range from average to sub-par but pretty much every other SEES and Strega member has spectacular performances. Even Ikutski and Elizabeth are iconic. Dunno what you're going on about, this dub is legendary overall tbh
I'd think....if it does exist in this game....that was more like recarmdra which heals ally/enemy at the expense of your own life force. Not sure if it was used here though
Wait, now that I think about it.... When you battle Takaya he can shoot you, however, that don't do much damage and even if it kills you, you can use recarm, samarecarm, or even use items, then why when Shinjiro got shot they didn't use one of this? The same goes for Junpei or Chidori
@@alejandropavon8421 Its even weirder if you're playing it on easy mode in that difficulty the mc has a good amount of nyx's feathers and he should have been able to revive both Shinjiro and Chidori so yeaaah
@@aikesscs old comment but I like to think it's the personas taking the hit in their behalf in those situations it's like being shot while having a bulletproof vest on when you're using the persona, still hurts but it doesn't kill you I might be wrong but that's kinda how it is in the p4 anime
Something I like about Portable in this scene is that Chidori's Persona actually fuses with Junpei (when the text says about strength of heart and all you can see Hermes and Medea together and becoming Trismegistus)
Despite the controversy Vic is in right now, I will never forget this amazing and emotional scene. Junpei's "Aaaaaarrrggghhh!!" just screams passion, anger and desperation
@@yukiterumi7371Junpei’s VA has SA Allegations against him, as Wikipedia says “In February 2019, Sony Pictures and Rooster Teeth ended their professional relationships with him in the wake of the MeToo movement, with allegations of sexual assault and harassment having been made against Mignogna by users on Twitter and professionals in the voice acting industry. Mignogna unsuccessfully pursued legal cases against Funimation and other industry professionals in relation to the allegations and was ordered by a court to pay the defendants' legal fees. Mignogna lost his appeals from Funimation and their actors in 2022.” Because of this he’s blacklisted from the Voice Acting community
M8 I went into this video and skipped to a random point in this video only to hear the last part of the sentence where Akihiko says, "...bitches!" I was so confused 😅...
OMG i love Yukari, but I laughed so hard. Haha that would be nice, but that would ruin the sad moment and Chidori's sacrifice, which makes her an important character and for Junpei to move on and become a true man.
Junpei: Someone revive her! Ken and Yukari: Sorry. Ran out of SP while trying to keep the other idiots from dying. Use a Balm of Life. MC: We uh, wasted those in Tartarus. Junpei: God damn it *proceeds to shoot himself.
I don't know, man. I love Reload and the way it handled this relationship a bit better, but the scream of agony that Junpei lets out instead of his "Burn in Hell" was always the better of the two. I will always give that to the OG Persona 3
Don't mess with Junpei. He will knock down a fire resistance persona user. I guess this is the same surge of power that the main character had when he/her activated their persona for the first time.
This is my favorite scene in the game. This solidified Junpei as one of my all time favorite characters. Vic’s voice acting was a huge reason. Given recent events and now that P3 is getting remade I’m gonna miss Vic’s Junpei. He played that role brilliantly. I’m curious to see how Junpei’s new voice actor will be like
until this point, every character who had their personas evolved had to take their time and think, gather their resolve. Junpei on the other hand; got furious and decided to act without thinking twice, allowing his persona to instantly evolve on the spot
I think that when Hermes turned into Trismegistus Junpei should have heard Chidori’s voice saying “I am thou, thou art I” Persona 3 is already a heartbreaking game despite the bad voice acting, but if they did that the scene would make me cry even MORE
I still defend that Junpei had the rawest Reawakenings since Persona 3. The Reload dialogue and cutscene is immensely improved, but I still think he should've sent Jin flying backwards like in the original, it packed so much oomph.
+Lord Genghis Shawn The Ultimate Invincible This game is just... emotional on so many levels, especially when revolving around events dealing with Junpei.
Junpei is probably the 2nd strongest/powerful member of the S.E.E.S./SO. Why? Simple. This scene. He fused persona without Igor's help. And he got his regeneration as gift from Chidori.
While I have yet to play P1, P2 IS, or P2 EP, I have to say that in my humble disgusting opinion, this is the best awakening in all of Persona. All of them are special mind you, whether it's their first second or even third in later entries. Yosuke, Akihiko, and Yusuke being some favorites of mine. But the emotional punch of this one, the weight behind it. I simply hold this one to a higher standard because of how much of how tragic it is, almost bringing me to tears each time I see it.
let me remind you junpei is the first to have a second awakening unlike the others his is not by some stupid resolution or power of friendship he fucking fuse with his love
Wait what? Junpei is the 7th character to have the second awakening, first was Akihiko, but Junpei is waaaaaaaaay better, and if you mean a REAL awakening then yes, he's the first
I'm pretty sure other members of SEES awakened first, Akihiko then Ken then Fuuka, and so on and so forth. So if you’re still asking who you are, I'd say you’re somebody with alzheimer's.
@@one-wingedangel5107 he meant he was the the only one who had a second persona resolution without some dialogue on how they should change and had that realization, Junoei had his by fusing with the soul of his girlfriend with his persona and a right full of fury to kill Takaya
Still as great a scene as I remember it. Dammit Vic, you oughta know the price of human transmutation by now. Also weird with the strange similarily between Ed and Junpei, seeing as how one is a technical genius and one is... Stupei. Similar outcome in a completely different context with the same actor. Interesting.
ARZRer after her death, if you talk to junpei on specific days, it will trigger a special event where chidori wakes up in the hospital but she does not remember anything happened, even who junpei is.
Zeno WONT LET that happen, he’s already made it clear that Persona 3 is such an important game to him, and he loves it dearly, Zeno will do Junpei well, I know it
I promise u, in persona 3 portable rage's jumpei is more epic then ps2 version. He calling his persona like: Peeerrsoonaaaaa!!!!! Die in the flameeeeesssssssss!
Oh boy! What a great ending to a wonderful story with great characters.I sure can't wait for them to be ruined through some fillers and fighting game spinoffs!
@@one-wingedangel5107 The fact that they even added such an option in the first place shows that they didn’t quite have the balls to stick with their original vision, instead opting to create some blatant fan-service route, even at the possible cost of the core themes and story beats of the game. P3P only makes this more clear. Doesn’t matter if it’s optional, it’s pure rubbish. No matter how you try to slice it.
5:49 whats the name of the track? I can't find it for the life of me on RU-vid Ik its a piano rendition of burn my dread but I can't find this version specifically
It was more of a recarmdra really, giving away life for the sake of others, it’s a really stupid skill to use in a game where if you die it’s game over (if it was used by others, it could be a game breaker if mediarahan is not yet available), but it works so well here.
