I always liked Yukari the most, then and now. Mitsuru was a pretty close second, thought. Now that some time has happen and atually put some mind in this i begin to understand more about Yukari's personality, about why her reactions some times and why her social link can only be started so late in the game even thought she was in the game from the very begining. Yukari had to move a lot because people blamed her father for the accident and also has her mother datting men soon after his loved father died. Since she was more a child by them she was mad because she felt her mother didn't mourn her dad making her bad relationship with her. Puting everything is complicated but in the end, she is a social personal and like to be liked for everyone, but still in the end she doesn't like to be seen weak and she deep down she doesn't really trust people too easily and use her tongue to keep some distance of everyone and everything since the thing she fears the most is to lose people important to her, still since it is like that once you pass her walls anyway you become a precious existence for her and she'll try to protect you with everything. This is why you can't actually start her social link until late in the game after the incident in the beach since then you actually got very close to her for a moment. She confronted the punks and got mad when you saved because one, she doesn't like to be seen weak or depent too much on others and two, she realised something could happen to you by protecting her, but still she realised she said too much later. The reason you need max charm to start the social link is because of her fears to get too close to people, max charm andis necesary to somehow make her want to know you enough to try it, also she is a beautifull, fashionist and popular girl so for the game creators the requirement was necesary in order to be her league xDDD.

it's kinda funny how the game jumps you into the relationship without your consent at all

"I want you to look at me the way I look at you..." God, that'd be lovely to hear for a change. Usually, all I get is "Get me the hell out of here!" and "Somebody please help me!". I suppose that's just the difference between fictional love and real love.

"However, you are just friends." This just cracks me up every time. It's like your pushy friend reminding you to hurry up and get closer to her so you can date. Or someone really trying really hard to make sure you don't overstep your boundaries.

Makoto: "Is it really necessary for you to tell me that I can make stronger personas after _every_ time that I talk to someone?" Yukari: "You okay? Who are you talking to?" Makoto: "Oh, just the voice inside my head that tells me how close I am to people. Yukari: "Okaaaay. Maybe I should rethink our relationship."

There’s an interesting parallel between how her mom acted and how she acts in the answer. I guess poor handling of grief runs in the family.

The hugs in this game are so awkward

People who dismiss her as a terrible character certainly can't appreciate how natural her behavior throughout her social link is. She's a fairly grounded character that doesn't try to present itself as the ideal girlfriend. Sure, she's not always the nicest or most rational person, but at least she feels like she's reacting to whatever's happening around her.

When I played The Answer at one point I gave Yukari leotard print leggings and she said something along the lines of "Oh, come on! I thought we were over stuff like this!" Does that mean it is canon that during The Journey the main character had her wear things like the high cut armour?

I love the fact that Michelle Ruff also voices Kawakami in P5 . It's a fitting role for someone who hates their life and everyone in it. I'm already at rank 6 with her, btw. xD

I first played Persona 3 when I was depressed. My highschool friends left me, I couldn't choose my own career path, daddy issues a la Shinji Ikari, you name it. But then I found relief on a fictional character, and that was her, Yukari.

9:38 so I knew the MC was gonna run in and help but I didn't expect him to just ape directly into them and beat them all up.

Honestly, this route is even more sadder, once you know what happen in the ending and The Answer. She explains that she doesn't want to be like her mother, that goes through men after men to ease her pain of the loss of her husband. Yukari sadly end up like her mother, minus dating through men. After Makoto passing away, She been desperately trying to safe Makoto, in The Answer. By changing the past and saving him from certain Doom, but get pretty aggressive, toward Aegis for refusing to change the past and challenge her for a battle. Only to find out, the reason why Makoto has pass away, was to sacrifice himself, to keep them all safe. She than finally accept her loss and apologize to everyone. Yukari and her mom isn't far apart for being the same. It's easy to loss sight of yourself and change after the loss of someone you love.

I like how the social links with females is just one long harem contrary to the seriousness of the full game.

Three guys surrounding Yukari. "Can I get a piece of that... Wait a minute is that..... RUN IT'S THE MAIN CHARACTER!"

Yukari's mom is foreshadowing for MC's future and how she copes with it.. Really sad to see that now so man years later

I just hate how Yukari asks you to go with her and then when you are out she suddenly says "Sorry let's go back". Yeah, I know that shit happens every time and she would not be in the right mood to spend some time with you, but I find it so annoying. But I love you either way, Yuka-Tan♡

The only thing I dislike about this game is the fact that you have to be a scumbag to all these girls to max out every social link. Thank god they changed that in future installments.

I was honestly a little lukewarm on Yukari at first, since she seems inconsistent, but I think the bonds really make her gel for me better. Still not my favorite, but I like her and can see why someone would like her best.
