Persona 3 Portable - Shinjiro Ending

In my opinion, the Shinji ending and the pocketwatch saving him from dying is the canon path for the female MC. I know it technically *isn't* but it really feels like a complete, beautiful story this way as opposed to with Aigis.

You know what I really like about Shinji living and being the "canon" pairing for FeMC? It completely changes the group dynamic in the hypothetical FeMC version of The Answer in extremely interesting ways, as now Shinji slots very nicely into Yukari's shoes and Akihiko could still be the opposing force that wants the group to move forward, but now the conflict between them is extremely deep and personal because not only have they known each other for so long and have so much shared history, Akihiko could be extremely scorned that FeMC loved Shinji instead of him, and that could inform so much of their decisions throughout The Answer. In the original version of The Answer, Akihiko made a very good foil to Yukari because while yes, Yukari probably did love Minato, everyone in SEES lost him, but Akihiko also lost a little more than anyone else because he was closest to Shinji. Flip the script to the FeMC route, Shinji lives and is now directly opposed to him, Akihiko suddenly has a lot less weight to throw around. Or, you could be even more radical with your changes and have someone like Mitsuru take Akihiko's position and explore that dynamic.

I definitely prefer FeMC with Shinji rather than the "canon" pairing with Akihiko. The personalities of the two characters definitely suit each other and I'm glad to see that there was the option of saving him to have the relationship. ^__^

"I'm glade I met you." The most heart warming and saddest ending line ever! To think they only spent a few weeks together.

After just beating Persona 3 for the first time, it's a bit upsetting to see that Shinji only lives in the female's story, and only if some conditions are met. He was easily my favorite character. This was nice to see, though, even though it's technically noncanonical.

One thing I'm glad they did in the live action play of Persona 3 with the female protagonist, they shipped her with Shinji. That shows everyone knows it should be canon

I can definitely see a Female Route "The Answer" with him taking Yukari's place, quarreling Aigis, blaming himself for her death, wishing he was dead and losing his mind. But at the end he finds "the Answer" and overcomes his issues.

Idk but I feel like this scene could have lead to some weird "if" scenario where Shinji got Minako's Fool Card instead of Aigis, making the FES episode pretty different. Would have to do something rediculous though like curing his whole slowly dying thing though.

Persona 3 has the best ending and I think the female mc is the most fitting. Female mc is more tragic which makes the narrative so much better than the male mc.

I imagine that after femc passes on shinji ends up joining her cause of the whole pill thing

This is why portable is so good since Shinjiro gets to live. Too bad we don't get to see him in FeMC's the answer, unless that part isn't canon for her?

Goddammit ATLUS... I am tired of you kicking my heart in the balls like this... LET MY BABIES BE HAPPY FOR ONCE THEY'VE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH BS ALREADY AND THEN FATE JUST PULLS THIS GARBAGE?!?! IF THIS WEREN'T SO EFFING BEAUTIFUL I'D HATE YOU FOR THIS!!! 😭😭😭😭😭 Seriously though, this is probably the most painful of all the endings considering the fact that they only had like a month together before he got stuck in a freaking coma and he literally just woke up TODAY of all days for a solid minute before she died in his freaking arms. He finally had a second chance at life and a reason for doing it and the instant he was able to return to it she was just taken away from him. That's not even tragedy, that's just flat-out mockery. Shinji's been through way too much already and doesn't deserve this crap in the slightest (and the only reason I'm emphasizing how crappy this is for Shinji is because Minako at least had time to accept it. Though I can only imagine how heartbroken she must be over realizing how broken this cruel timing is gonna leave the person she loves). Neither of them deserve this. In the slightest. I mean it's still spectacular but I'm still really freaking bitter about it because I just want my favorite characters to be happy is that too much to ask?!

I've played the game and then I saw the part when he got shot in the game when I saw that you could save him I started crying don't know just got me sad because I thought at first he was gonna die

I know people say Shinji would just die from the Suppressants anyway, but maybe the doctors found some way to cure him.

you know if portable got remade to have the answer. i think shinjiro should take aigis role for the female route. i'm thinking like he would wish he died when takaya shot him. so he could be with her again. probably thinking "what about metis" probably would be changed to a human dude with a diffrent name. or be a human girl named miki. i'm leaning towards the latter. due to how metis was born from aigis rejected emotions. so it would make sense that shinjiro rejected emotion would take the form of someone he lost and something he was trying to forget. as for weapon. i'm thinking either naginata or revolver. naginata due to the loss of the female protagonist. revolver. due to how he almost died. tell me what you think.

It's kinda sad in a way. I'm in the camp who sees Shinji being alive as completely fucking the motivation of Akihiko and Ken and their new convictions, but I can see why people enjoy the but of fan service that him being alive gives.

Somehow I missed this ending. I was gunning for it but instead I got the aigis ending. Despite me maxing out his S.link even making them do it. But then again I also make her do it with Ryoji and Theo. I wonder what I missed or what I did wrong?

I just finished the game on a New Game + on Maniac after romancing Shinjiro (and yes, I talked to the student in the classroom who told me that he woke up), but Shinjiro didn't come. Does this mean that it's not possible to get any of the special endings on Maniac due to Maniac not allowing you to carry anything over except playtime?

Imagine in persona q3 they decided to just decided to user older characters of persona 3nqjd 4. and then persona 5 royal characters being themselves, and from the Femc route older Shinji appears. Imagine how must that sucks for for the Male timeline of the persona 3 cast
