We're halfway through this game, I think.
Farming Elec Brooches in Tartarus, and I didn't even use them in the end. They're accessories that reduce Elec damage, but I ended up using Resist Shock equipment instead.
Hermit was... underwhelming. In my first try attempt at him blind, I almost beat him with a quarter of his life remaining.
That might be the fact that MC is finally able to dish out damage. Poor MC was playing support the entire time, up until now where thanks to the new Skill Cards available he's now a beast.
I bring a team of Akihiko, Ken and Aigis. Akihiko is a no-brainer here, and as mentioned you'll probably be seeing him in every battle. In fact I think he has appeared in every video since I unlocked him. Having Tarunda is automatically an inclusion in the team, since we most likely won't have access to debiliate (not sure since I'm playing through this game the 1st time).
Aki's trait is also surprisingly powerful, with a 1.3 boost to buff skills he's can land heavy blows once he unlocks stronger Strike Skills.
With the boss spamming Elec skills, the healer has to be Ken unless I want Yukari to get knocked down almost every turn. In fact, I believe this was the intended team for Nyx for MoogleBoss' P3P Challenge Run, huh.
I could have brought Mitsuru to spam Rakunda but decided to bring Aigis for her buffs. She doesn't get knocked down during Origia mode so Ken doesn't have to keep using Makarakarn on her.
Ken is really underwhelming without his trait that restores SP every turn, but we can't get that now. And he's not even gonna be in the next Full Moon (spoilers!)
Getsu-Ei OP. I mean, there's also Slash Boost, Crit Rate Boost and Apt Pupil. If you've played or watched any P3R Gameplay, you'll know that Physical is overpowered and breaks the game. (a certain unbalanced persona available a bit too early in the game).
Each Crit does over 700 Damage, which is even more than a Theurgy. Even without Theurgy, Getsu-Ei already does around 250 damage which is insanely busted.
Obviously our new Persona Take-Mikazuchi plays a role in easing the battle since he nulls Elec. MC doesn't even have to guard. Our Tarunda Bot Akihiko also resists Electric so he's fine throughout the battle.
Even without Take-Mika, I believe Pixie would've been able to get the job done since she resists Elec. Null is obviously preferred but resist would've still been manageable.
Hermit doesn't really has many moves that threaten us. Electric skills are his biggest nuke and that's a non-issue since MC nulls it and Aki resists it.
I also learned a new trick from this guy @Groudon0199 from his video • Persona 3 Reload - Tar... here.
You can stack and extend buff durations, which is something I didn't think of. Thus I have Aki spamming Tarunda on the boss which makes it last forever.
Though this raises an issue with how we deal with Nyx. With this new knowledge I was thinking that we could spend 100 turns in the 1st phase just spamming buffs and debuffs and make the entire fight a cake walk... huh
Nyx doesn't act during the 1st phase so and he doesn't have Dekaja/Dekunda, which is really odd considering most final bosses have those skills.
It was just... weird.
