I think the best way to describe P3R is that it is the most agreeable version of P3. It won’t become the definitive version for all players but it more than likely will be at least the second best. All things considered it is a pretty conservative remake of the original, which probably also has to do with it being the first Atlus game on Unreal Engine. I suspect that’s also why there are growing pains with the presentation, specifically with the change from some scenes being anime cutscenes to being done in engine, or the addition of ray-tracing. They probably want to get the grip with these tools somehow.
I'd agree. Certainly better than Portable. I enjoyed Reload, but I don't think P3 would be my favorite game in the series if FES wasn't my first experience with it.
