Persona 4: Arena | Elizabeth's Plan to Save P3MC 

Notice in all of the Persona media, Elizabeth only mentions that she wants to "save" the P3 Protagonist, not "revive" him or bring him back to life. I think the idea behind Elizabeth's quest is to free him from the burden of being The Great Seal, and let his soul finally be at rest.

Door-kun returning in 3 games just like how jesus came back after 3 days would be really cool.

Persona 6: Elizabeth's Journey

Makoto is the only protagonist that still fighting to keep that door sealed?. C'mon Atlus he deserve an honorable ending let Elizabeth do her things.

I will never understand people claiming bringing Minato back will "Ruin the message of Persona 3" The message was already sent, we got it, we learned it, that's all there is to it. With that message sent, they're free to do whatever they want with the P3 cast. It's not like bringing Minato or Shinjiro back will retroactively alter the message. No one's gonna look at that and assume Persona 3 was trying to tell us, "Make the most of the life so when death comes you can accept it UNLESS your hot blue Velvet Room GF can bring you back to life after the fact."

I kinda wonder what became our door-kun in Maruki alternate reality. Theoricaly Nyx shouldn't exist, it's possible that he was alive with his friends back there

I wonder if this will ever be expanded on, or will just be a throwaway to expand on Elizabeth's character.

I'm starting to think that maybe they had a plan to bring him back at some point but dropped it in Ultimax

Does this mean the P3 protagonist can be actually brought back and this time not for dancing. I'm getting the chills thinking about it.

Since Elizabeth has now the Fool Arcana, if she ever decided to return to the Velvet Room would she still count as an Attendant or would she become a Guest?

The whole point of death is to let your soul rest. However, the P4U games suggest that he's serving as the seal that locks away Nyx from entering the world. If you think about it, Makoto/Minato isn't resting. His soul is still alive, just guarding the door. So...it would mean that P3's story still....isn't complete? I might be running off a tangent, but these are just my thoughts. Also....with Elizabeth, she's bestowed with the Fool arcana...I think she'll eventually complete her goal, just like how Aegis did in P3A, how Minako did in P3P, how Makoto/Minato did in P3, how Yu/Souji did in P4 and P4G, and how Ren/Akira did in P5/P5R.

Elizabeth treads a dangerous path, she reminds me of the Nephilim, fallen angels that fell in love with humans and begot half-angel children. For their crimes they were banished from heaven, and I fear the same thing happening to Elizabeth. Falling in love with a human isn't a crime per se, but even Theodore mentioned that he would be punished if he dallied with the FeMC for too long, and he broke off the relationship out of fear of forgetting his duties. Presumably Velvet Room attendants are supposed to remain more or less detached from their "guests". They can form bonds with them, but it seems like Igor frowns on them getting too close. Which is kinda sad, but makes sense I guess. If a Velvet Room attendant were to become overly attached to a human they might neglect their responsibilities and have a hard time saying goodbye to them at the end of the story. It seems like Igor makes it a rule not to interfere too much with human lives, apart from granting various individuals special abilities and allowing them access to various persona-related functions within the Velvet Room. Speaking of, why does Igor need assistants? Near as I can tell, he is capable of performing all the same things himself and I believe he handles fusion personally (except for Persona 5 because that wasn't really Igor). Hmm, now I have to wonder also what Velvet Room attendants do in their free time? Like, when they're waiting for the protagonist to come to the Velvet Room or after the game is completed and they're no longer needed, what do they do? Judging by the flashback with Margaret it seems like Velvet Room attendants have other responsibilities besides administering to the player. And I wonder also if new Velvet Room attendants are created each time a new Wild Card awakens to their persona? If so, I wonder why? Why not just reuse old attendants? Why bother creating new ones? And who creates these new attendants? Igor? And what about Morgana? He's not a Velvet Room attendant but he is kind of a resident of the Velvet Room, I assume Igor created him as well before Yaldabaoth came and fucked him up. Too many questions! XD

To me personally P3 story wasn't finished back then. Like P3 cast said "he" will come back someday. There was never a message to begin with, there is a chance that P3 will have a sequel considering the ending. I love P3 story, character and i do hope seeing them once again in P6 or probably an official crossover between P4 and P5 different from spinoff like Q and Arena.

All the others ex companions seems to have forgotten him, but Elizabeth is adamant in dedicating her life to save him regardless of the consequences to her, this is the closest we will ever be from a romance between an attendant and a human. Basically canon as well.

I have a possible theory on how Elizabeth could free his soul. Elizabeth's goal is to free his soul from being the wall. Whether this means she wants to bring him back to life, or wants to allow his soul to move on, im not quite sure. HOWEVER, and this is just a theory. What if she(or from what many people speculate, the phantom thieves) could convince the populace as a whole, to give up a year or so off of their own life span. Or maybe even select few(teammates and social links) to give up some of their life force to help create another wall. This would also come to serve as another lesson of self sacrifice by shortening their lifespan by a few years. That way nobody has to be the door. It will be made out of the willpower of humanity itself. Humanity is the one who beckoned to erebus, so humanity could in theory be the one to help keep erebus at bay. This would allow the mc to be released from his bounds into return to the sea of souls. And then there's another outcome which i hope they dont actually do. Elizabeth would simply sacrifice herself and become the door. Though i'm not quit sure if such a thing is achievable by her. While she is very powerful this seemed like something only the protag could have done. Something special about him and his persona maybe.

I swear P3 protagonist’s D was life changing for her. Fun fact in the last story scene with her, if you play her story. You and her have some fun in bed(yes it’s exactly what it’s implying). She said to P3 Protagonist that if she stayed in our world she would get to attached. So she returned to her duty instead of hanging out with Him more. This must’ve played in some sort of big regret in her heart.

Peoples always said that "Minato can't be revived because his body is already dead" or something similar but dude think about it, this is Persona you're talking about, reviving someone is less bullshit than Shadow who can use Persona, looking at YOU Teddie!

Without P3 protagonist, the p4 and p5 cast wouldn't have their lives so insane.

I’m here because I just finished p3r and damn that ending hurt. I’m honestly glad they gave us this to us because the thought of MC just dying and everyone being forced to move on without him sucks. Even though we likely won’t ever know if Elizabeth succeeds or in what capacity if she does it at least makes me happy to know that she cares enough to try. Still sad he didn’t even get to say goodbye to the p3 characters tho 😢

I hope Persona 6 would cover this up. Saving Makoto using either Yu or Ren as the MC OR we can use Kotone as the MC too you know or we can use new MC and new friend with the old cast helping the new comers save Makoto and prevent whatever calamity gonna come next.

WARNING spoilers for P3 P4 and P5 are here f dat o not clock on comment if you haven’t played or watched these games Honestly after seeing this. I do believe Makoto Yuki can be brought back to life. Because I learned that the humans still desire Nyx, as in Nyx is still wanted among mankind, however if Nyx is no longer wanted as in mankind no longer wishes for death itself then Nyx would seize to exist and he will gain a second chance at life. Because of there’s one connection to the persona final bosses, they all are connected by “Man’s Desire.” As in humans desire for them. Like in P4 the humans wished for Izanami’s fog of lies and deception because they don’t desire the truth. In P5 Yaldaboath or the Holy Grail was wished by the masses for control peace and order after the Phantom Thieves actions and chaos. So in P3 Nyx was created by Man’s desire the desire to die. I’m my belief Nyx I believe can be killed instead of sealed, and if Nyx is killed then the great seal will vanish and give Makoto Yuki a second chance of life.

She's just trying to free the protagonist soul so he can properly rest right?.

i hope atlus make a spin off persona series like "persona : the great seal" where Joker and the Phantom Thieves start their mission to defeat Nyx and set Makoto souls free. Why Joker? because Joker's not achieved the world arcana yet, and we can finally see Joker's world arcana at the end of the series when He defeated Nyx. That'd be awesome, please ATLUS ❤❤❤

I wish they would make a persona game where elizabeth is the protagonist and her journey as the plot. She gained the fool's arcana anyways so maybe it's her time to be the wild card.

He soon was awoken two years after Persona 4 Arena Ultimax story(2012). He was able to be alive again because he was somehow saved by Elizabeth. Elizabeth used the power she has to separate the life of Makoto Yuki by half. Half of Makoto's life is used at the great seal and the other half is being transfered to Makoto's real body. Due to this event, Makoto couldn't be called that he's totally alive, he's half-dead/half-alive. Aside of being half-alive, he's also ageless means whenever he's having a birthday, he'll always be 21 years old. By the time he was resurrected/awaken, his body was in Tatsumi Memorial Hospital, under the care of Kirijo Group in the hand of his old comrade, Mitsuru Kirijo. Apparently, him being half-alive gives him several disadvantages. First, he didn't have physical condition as good as he used to be. Second, due to his 'bad' physical condition, he tried to maintain his stamina as long as he could especially about summoning his persona. The power of the wild card has not gone yet, but since changing many personas will only make his power drains faster, he mainly uses 3 Personas; Thanatos, Messiah, and Orpheus Telos. Since he wanted to repay Elizabeth's deed, he watched over the world, trying to keep away mankind's wishes of calling forth Erebus as the payment. Being not fully guards the seal makes another disadvantage for Makoto. Sometimes, the Dark Hour will come unexpectedly in random times because of the leaking from the seal. Although the tartarus is no longer there, the shadows will sometimes be seen roaming on the road and needs to be exterminated. I do hope they'll bring Elizabeth's journey into P6, I doubt we'll get to play as her, however I'd enjoy to see how this fool is connecting to those around her after so much time has come to pass

I like to imagine that someday Elizabeth will free Makoto from this... horrible situation. but what would happen? His body is dead.. for sure.. soooo.. i think that he would be able to reincarnate? (as everything that lives) or.. Just finished P4G and saw Margarette dialogue about Elizabeth, so that means in future persona that might be sequel for P3 story Elizabeth might become the enemy? She wants to release the mc on seal that means releasing Nyx and we all know it's the end of the world if Nyx got released.

I still think this abandoned plotline is the biggest loss the persona franchise has taken. Im 100% sure the fans would LOVE to play as Elizabeth. Not to mention finally saving the MC. I cannot imagine why they havent payed this off yet.

Persona 6 would actually be the perfect game to bring Elizabeth's journey into life, and see our boy Makoto alive once more. He deserves a happy ending after all he went through. In a way, it would be cool if the cast had it's own original members, but also had members from the previous 3, 4 and 5 games. Imagine Joker and Yu helping Elizabeth bringing our boy Messiah back. The last battle, Elizabeth, Ren, Yu and Makoto together in a fight against Nyx. The 4 Fools against the voices of Humanity.

The Persona 3 mc is basically Jesus Christ. In the Bible Jesus sacrificed himself to save humanity, and later on he came back to life. The Persona 3 mc sacrificed himself to save humanity, so he could come back to life too. I hope so because I want my Persona 3 mc and Yukari ship to come true.

This is persona ffs where you can defeat a god by dancing and it is canon or how igor got snatched by a false god whos able to separate a loli into 2 loli.

I have a crazy theory that might proof that Elizabeth already succeed at release P3MC's soul and that is Morgana. Remember what Morgana look like? A black cat with bright blue eyes wearing yellow scarf and keep saying that he is a human. And who is a boy with black hair bright blue eyes and wearing yellow scarf? Ryoji and Ryoji is Thanatos. In P4A Elizabeth take Thanatos with her to stop Erabus from reaching to Nyx. If my theory correct this is what happen. After somehow Elizabeth success to find a power equally to the great seal and replace it then set P3MC's soul free she left Thanatos at the Velvet room nand never came back. Then Yaldabaoth imprisoning Igor and cut Lavenza in half before that happen she used Thanatos to created Morgana then sent off to find a Wildcard to save her master.

Like a butterfly fluttering its wings.. and the fool arcana.. made me think of the end game fusion loli girl from persona 5 royal. if only they could link the lore to Elizabeth finding joker and the gang or Elizabeth being the new fool arcana holder or her granting the card to her "champion" for persona 6.

He choosed to die, that was his answer to life, reviving him is just.. I dunno but I want him to find peace cuz I love him so much

Now that Persona 3 Reload is out a new theory is that Makoto having the Universe Arcana managed to free himself and rewrite his own story, and that's why he was so exhausted at the end of Reload and why the SEES were disconnected from him and Aegis because the power of the bonds wasn't being drained anymore

the sad thing is that minato technically isnt even dead, but stays as a seal for eternity, cause he alone can hold back mankinds desire for death mankind will just wish for its own demise if he doesnt continue being the seal between him and erebus .. even sadder is the fact that erebus can never be removed cause its only natural that humans grieve and think negatively. so elizabeth will be trying to find a way to save minato for eternity with probably no success.

What if in persona 6 your trying to save Makoto Yuki along side Aigas and before you enter the final boss room you hear in the background “velvet oh velvet, Makoto I have found you”

Wouldn't it be the perfect time for atlus to make a sequel to persona3? Seems like the game isn't done yet. They still have some things to do. Aigis and Elizabeth both got the fool arcana. Yukari is the only one that hasn't gotten it yet

And Atlus still hasn't done anything with this storyline.

Given that this is the same Persona universe that turned a robot into a human (Aegis) and gave a shadow its own physical body (Teddy), it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine the protagonist returning WITH a body. But as much as it's possible to bring him back and I want Elizabeth to succeed, in the overall Shin Megami/Persona universe, it makes sense this particular protagonist would join the ranks of guardians/protectors/unworldly beings instead - becoming similar to the guardians we recruit/fuse (guardians like Masakado). So in this sense, it's pretty bad-ass Makoto ended up the way he did. He could've walked the life of a mortal human like the latter Persona protagonists. Instead, this BAMF ascended beyond the realm of the living (much like Demi-fiend in Nocturne, according to canon) and was given cosmic power to balance the likes of Nyxx herself.
