Once again, I want to appreciate the beautiful mindset of Shoji Meguro. When he was asked to create a soundtrack to a techno-pyramid that exists in the mind of a clinically depressed girl, he decided "I'm going to draw inspiration from Carlos Santana's sound", and he was ABSOLUTELY CORRECT to do so.

Shoji Meguro has been using that sound since nocturne. Its part of his identity at Atlus and can be seen in tracks like blues in the velvet room, Town battle from nocturne, memories of the city, and the original version of I'll face myself. I will admit that only this and memories of the city use the sound to sound extremely similar to Santana's work. I think its due to how laid back the guitar feels in comparison to the other tracks.

A character who was so depressed and suicidal that her shadow was the one in the right. Also a rare case of someone who came to terms with her shadows and awakened her persona using the P4 method but without a fight.

It makes me kinda disappointed that they didn't make a bigger deal of that in the game. Futaba is one of the very few characters who didn't need to fight their shadow to come to terms with it and awaken to their persona in the entire series (unless P1 or P2 were the same way, but no clue).

Man. When you reach this part of Persona 5 it's not even about taking down the corrupted evil of Society and bringing justice down. It's far more personal than that this time. For the first time you want to save someone. Your fighting for something other than yourself. It really hits home.

Futaba is a really cool character. I know some people have grips with the "loli" side of things, I personally think it's weird how she looks healthy... being confined in a room for years, only eating junk food, depressed, etc.. and she looks healthy, dressed in stylish clothing? But it's anime, of course everybody will look good, it's not "realistic". Besides these small flaws, I really like Futaba, she is the coolest navigator in the series (Fuuka is right up there, her abilities in P3 Reload easily outclass the other navigators, but her personality as the "cutesy saint" is super played out)

I feel like Futaba would have a mixture of both Red and Black Psyche Locks. If you try and romance her, it's especially apparent. She acts like she's fine, but you can tell she's not at first, because this is all so new to her. That's when the red psyche locks would kick in. And I'm sure everyone can guess where her black locks come from... I just want Futaba happy which is why i ship her and Ren/Akira/Joker so much. Joker saved her, and Futaba wants to be protected by him. After all, she literally says in her SL "You're my Key Item."

I turn 30 this year and listening to this and understanding how painful it is to lose your mother at a young age makes me cry. I myself went through a similar situation as Futaba and tried to close myself away from everyone. I felt worthless because I failed school back then and got accused of just being lazy and using my mother's death as an excuse to not do anything. What I have to say about this: if anyone endures similar grievances don't listen to those people and please don't lock yourself up. There are people out there who care for you or show compassion. Fight the emotions of feeling powerless/worthless. I know it's hard but you can do it!

I'm obsessed with this song man. Especially with the amount of loss I've gone through in 2019 (lost my grandma and my dog in the same month, and 2 months after my mom had a tragic accident and became paralyzed). This song is always my go-to when I'm feeling down. Just has a vibe and energy about it. My favorite palace, and my favorite theme in the whole game.

Man, listening to osts from this game and games in general, looking through all of the comments is really eye-opening. People may diss them, but video games (and shows, and all media really,) really do affect people. If you play the right game or watch the right show, it can really change your mindset, and affect your outlook on life. Even me, someone who hasn't gone through anything, with no major problems in my life, can listen to this music and feel the heart behind it; the fact that it makes me think everything is going to be ok. I think that's beautiful: that something so insignificant as a piece of music can change something so big. I don't have anything I can relate to in this track or it's context, but the fact that it makes me feel so much is amazing. It's not just the Persona series, shows like Bojack Horseman, where I look through the comments on its soundtrack and people are talking about how the show changed their lives. More shows and games need to be put out there, ones that can provide enjoyment for everyone, but have the messages and the morals that can teach us, and show us it'll be ok. It's good to know some game developers aren't just here for the money.

*YES* media doesn't just have to be there for "escapism" it can be there to teach ya about life, make ya understand that there's more than just your perspective in this world and can help ya understand yaself as a person. Games like Persona 5 can show just how corrupt and disgustin people can be with no remorse for the people they hurt and trample on; even with "takin them down" the damage has already been done, the things they did to those people can't just be forgotten. However, ya should still strive for justice, not just for yaself but for other people too

yeah, so much love was put into making this game and it makes me excited to go through p4 and p3 when im done with 3rd semester and strikers. persona 5 has definitely changed the way i think and feel in a very positive way. i couldnt be more in love with it, mainly for the OST and dynamic between all the characters. All of the palaces have amazing themes that I can listen to over and over and never get bored, but Futaba's is one that stands out from the rest. It just makes me feel kinda safe, maybe because I can relate to Futaba in the sense that I hate to leave my room and talk to other people, and don't have a mother anymore (not because she died tho, she left when I was 14) her palace and this music just hits different man. It makes me sad but in a good way if that makes sense? this music is just so beautiful and seeing Futaba realise that her mother didn't hate her, seeing her move on and open up to the Phantom Thieves and Sojiro, kind of made me feel better. Like maybe one day I can move on from everything and be happy like that.

I didn't think I'd ever personally relate to this song even if I could feel the sadness and loneliness embedded in it, or even Futaba's hardships until my oldest sister died from complications with a surgery overseas. It's been way too hard for my family, and being the black sheep and everyone's scapegoat they kinda just got mad at me and blamed me for so many things they might as well have said I was the reason she died while at it as a way to excise their sorrow and grief. Even if you might know the truth, when faced with that much overwhelming fury the truth itself starts to feel like an illusion, especially when the person that would have defended you and stood up for you is no longer there.

This theme represents what the name suggests... Futaba's wishing her mother was there and nothing else, and this entire palace and arc hit different than the rest of the game... The electric high tone is her waking up from a dream where her mother's alive and well to the lower softer electric tone which is her sitting up and coming to realization that her mother is never coming back... these tones give off the feel of a lost parent, from the happy memorys you've made together To the sadness that you'll never make memories with said parent again. It's lingering in memories of someone that is nevermore... The first guitar solo is her happy memories with her mother whitch is why it's a much more mellow tone than the rest of the song... This specific OST hits different... And just... Listening to the song sounds like someone is crying out, I struggled to get through Futaba's palace because... Well... I was dealing and grieving from a relative that had passed weeks prior to me getting P5, I felt myself well up inside when I heard the OST for the first time, when going through her palace. I asked myself "why do I feel like crying?..." Until I actually sat down and gave the OST a listen. I found myself in tears, Persona 5 holds a special place in my heart, the experience's are somethin to be cherished. Edit: this relative that I mentioned that had passed away was like a Mother figure to me when I was growing up, so her passing away tore me up... To a point I pushed everyone away and kept myself locked up in my room... Sorta like Futaba...

Persona 5 make a change of heart for me, I felt like death on the inside and outside like what was I doing with my life but then I play this game and it was the firs time I connect with a character of a game like I know them for like but Futaba palace Broke me I cry because it feels like it was a message that it tries to give me specially because I used to locked myself or tries to keep in calm like Futaba, I love all this game but The fourth palace hit me different , show me that I must be thankful for the family I have and now I have a different view of the world. Sailor Moon is amazing too, especially the DIC dub we grew up with in America in the late 90s/early 2000s, I actually didnt know her name was Usagi, even though I love Serena, until I watched Sailor Stars in japanese before it was acceptable in America, which is dubbed on blu ray now, never thought that would happen! Futaba makes my head hurt, but she's my favorite character so far. Relatable. A ball of depression and trauma pushing everything and everyone away. Blaming herself for something she didn't do. Hearing voices calling out to her and hallucinating things that aren't there. Makes me want to protect her, i suppose.

This song reminds me of Summer 2019, I was young, so full of dreams, stress free, going out with my friends almost everyday. My only problems were university, but at that time, I was doing so well. Then the pandemic hit, and it completely tore down my life, lost contact with some of my friends, lost motivation to study and work, my notes fell massively, at the point of considering droppin out, anxiety kicked in my life... Now I live stressed out about my life, but this song reminds me that good times will return, that even though what happened won't return, I must look forward and rebuild my life. I will be happy again.

Every other girl character in the game besides Yoshizawa: "We could probably survive without Joker. We're independent." Futaba: "You're my key item." For real. Out of all the female characters in the game, Futaba seemingly needed Joker the most. She was quiet, hid behind him, was terrified of the outside world, and begged him for help. He brought his friends to save her despite everything and then kept her around, giving her a place to belong and making her feel needed. Her rank 9 romance will always be one of the cutest scenes in a game, and her confronting her uncle is amazing. "Can you come with me alone? I don't want to worry the others." - You solo her uncle, the piece of shit. She then proceeds to hack reality twice (three times in Royal) to save you. Hacks a site to help you with your other confidants. Does the most out of anyone. Resurrects your team if you need it, and buffs the shit out of you every five turns. Her dates are adorable, and at the end of the day, all you need to get her rank up is KINDNESS. Makoto demands Knowledge, and then turns out to be stupidly into trying to get into other people's business. Ann demands Charm, so you gotta impress her. Haru? We don't talk about cinnamon roll. She's precious. Yoshizawa? Also a good choice. But Futaba just wants you to be kind. All she ever wanted was for someone to listen and not judge her. Even Sojiro had a hard time doing that. He couldn't easily relate to her like you could.

Yeah, I'd like the romance route for her more if the relationship between them was less of a sibling/savior thing. It just makes it feel kinda weird and out of place. Futaba and Ren's relationship is definitely a lot more based on kindness and just being a good person a lot more than the other options, but that closeness almost feels a bit exploitative if transitioned into a romantic relationship.

This song reminds me of my grandmother. The tune, the instruments, just the mindset just reminds me of my grandmother. She was so lonely and pushed people away every time she could. In a way, she did have one person she would never push away. It was me. I was the only one who got her to calm down when she was mad, cheer up when she was sad, and just make her laugh. I remember one time when I was about 4 I was jumping on her bed when she was laying down. I jumped on her face and broke her nose. Instead of her crying, or being upset, she was dying laughing. I showed her my video games all day. She didn't understand it, but she thought it was funny. I remember on my first day of kindergarten, when I got back, she had bought me a king size chocolate bar to congratulate me. I was so happy, and she was happy to see me happy. She lived with me and my mom and dad. I got to see her every day. When I was 1, I tried to say grandma, and I couldn't say it, so I just called her "Mamaw!" I called her that since. One night she fell off her bed and hit her head. It was a huge chunk of skin peeled off. She was later diagnosed with cancer. A few months later, after she had gotten way worse, she started to get better. She laid in a bed in the living room. She couldn't get up, but she still made time for me. On my first day of first grade, my mom had to work, so when I got home, I would be home alone. The school I went to was just across the street. When I got home, I yelled, "Mamaw! I'm home!" With a smile on my face. When I got into the living room, it looked like she was sleeping. I thought I should go back there and wake her up. I noticed she looked a bit pale, but I didn't care. I was just excited to tell her about my first day of first grade. I shook her a little bit. She didn't wake up. I touched her hand. And all I felt, was cold. I love you, Mamaw. I'll miss you.

This broke me. My grandfather died because of negligence of a senior care center. He suffered a stroke and fell out of his bed. My grandmother was miserable. Everything she did was with him. As for me, he was a wonderful person and a very caring man who always loved a good laugh. So when he passed away, it broke my grandmother to pieces. It also really hurt me too as I cared about him... I hope you're doing better now. P.S. My grandma is suing the senior care center for negligence and causing his death. She hopes that this lawsuit will shut down that awful senior care center and get him the justice he deserved!

I lost mine February 2020. He called me and asked if he could crash at my place. I was pretty sketched cause i live in a 1 bedroom. he noticed my hesitation and even said nevermind after i said yes. Always one of the most symbolic themes in the game.......with such sadness to the character Futaba behind it in every beat, melody, and tone dynamic that this masterpiece shows. Always makes me realize my own sadness and this soundtrack allows me to express it in many ways by myself in my own head, in a healthy way! Futaba's palace was a bit of a hard hitter for me. Not just cause of her character, but cause I went through a period earlier on in life where I just shut myself away after a few major deaths in the family. Just a really low point in life where nothing made sense. Going through that palace sorta felt like I was taking a part of myself back if that makes sense. Still miss my grandmother and my brother, and always will, but well...I'll just say Joker's a bit of a personal hero now.

(HUGE spoiler alert) Futaba is one of my favorite Persona characters. She was a girl who was basically told her mother killed herself because she saw her daughter as too much of a burden, and because of that, kept herself in a room for the rest of her life as a form of self-inflicted punishment. She thinks she doesn't deserve to have a life, because to her, she took the life of her mother. She's severely traumatized and experiences hallucinations where her mother (as a monster) comes and berates/attacks her. People have their theories and interpretations, but to me, the whole story is fundamentally about trauma and the lasting effects it can have on you. I don't think I've ever seen a better portrayal of someone with severe mental health issues; you have sympathy for her, especially since you can step into her mind, her puzzles are some of my favorite in the game because of the meaning they convey, she's not just treated as "crazy", you see the origin of her mental state and you experience yourself what it's like to be her, the things she tells herself, how she little she sees of herself, her own hallucinations, and most important, she ends up having agency over her own struggles and eventually overcomes them. The amount of ambition is takes to tell a story like that is insane. And it worked. Futaba is one of the reasons Persona 5 is my favorite Persona game

More Spoilers! Another fantastic aspect of her character is a great portrayal of someone on the autistic spectrum, her growth after the Phantom Thieves saves her and her whole confidant story of learning how to be more independent is so heartwarming. When I replay P5 it’s always so rough playing through her palace but knowing we get our happy nerdy gremlin out of it makes me happy. Her in P5 Strikers (and tactica) is so much happier and you can tell how much she’s improved. Easily much Favorite character in any game, she hits so close to home for me. Honorable mention to her whole family story with Sojiro and Ren so great.

I never played any game of this series till I ended persona 5 last week. And what can I say...? I just fell in love with the overall experience. Remarkable characters, awesome soundtrack, a good story... And damn, this OST slaps so hard! I literally wanted to cry when play Futaba's Palace because of the lore behind it and this soundtrack (I actually cried when Sojiro realizes that she had a change of heart) and after all of this I'm sure that she is my favorite character in the game. I'm now really hyped to play P5R asap.

I wasn't a big fan of this palace, just seemed underwhelming to me, but playing it again in Royal did kinda make me remember why I still liked this palace. Now, I myself have never had a favorite (depths of mementos and SHido's are probably up there) but the story itself still shows off it's brilliance.

Spoiler warning for the secret ending of Persona 5 Royal: You know, bringing my friends out of Maruki's reality was hard. The game wanted me to feel like doing so for Sumire was the hardest part, but for me it was hardest to do it to Futaba. I made her lose her mother a second time, and I didn't even bother asking her if that's the choice she would have made. I felt so bad for that.

Dude. I def felt like shit after that. Same goes for Haru and Makoto/Sae. Each one of them lost their loved ones again, and all I could tell myself was "Its okay if you hate me. I'm kinda mad at me too." But the girl and her dog definitely smacked me the hardest when you check on her. We see her and her dog go through it the entire game and when she said she felt something was wrong. and that he wasn't supposed to be there....I felt that shit.

The reason is because her strong desire changed to become her will of rebellion, and it wasn't her that was the master of the palace. its why she doesn't end up in Mementos at the end of the game like every other palace owner. she didn't turn to apathy and following everyone else, she followed her own path. if that makes sense
