Shido is one of my favorites antagonist in this game until maruki, and no I didn't like maruki because of his motive I actually love the psychotic evil villian more, I loved maruki more because I love his character
Something I dont ever see anyone mention is that Makoto wanted to outright kill this man. Even before this very fight she said something like "For such a criminal a mere change of heart is too good for them.". Even after the fight she says "You will pay with your life."
Not necessarily. "You will pay with your life" could also be seen as him spending the rest of his life in a prison at the mercy of others while wallowing in misery and regret. Like Ann said, there are fates worse than death.
I think she meant for him to atone with his life in prison, for the crimes. What she said before, though, about how a change of heart is too good for them, definitely alludes to it.
I remember I played this and I saw him make it a 1v1 and I thought “aight cue ball Steve, you want a 1v1? I’ll fucking give it to you: bring it on old man LETS END THIS” God this change was so fucking good.
Shido had this coming for so many reasons, not just Joker. He hurt Haru and Futaba even more by killing their relatives. For all the'strong man' image he was a coward in many ways. I had to admit this was one fight I really got into :)
Well, in Japan a criminal record is much more damaging to someone’s life compared to the US. It can very well ruin your life, not being able to get jobs, and your reputation gets destroyed as you see in P5 with Joker. You’re treated like a outcast, not being able to do anything worthy in your life. It makes it worse that Joker was falsely accused of assault.
When I saw him do his defeat animation, I thought there was gonna be another phase, and this is a recreation of my reaction to it. "NO JUST DIE ALREADY! JUST- oh he's dead..."
I took a really cheap approach during the solo part against Shido. I switched to Arahabaki (Repels Physicals) and constantly used a magic shield.. Gotta love it when a-holes hurt themselves!
Flipper Jr. I was too OP to face Shido, and I dumbed myself down to just using Melee attacks on the 1V1 lol and I kept switching Personas that either Nulled or Drained his magic attacks lol. I liked the route I took more as this was personal and it was more fitting just attacking him with my Tyrant Knife
I accidentally did the funniest thing against Shido in the solo phase So you know that one attack of his, Tyrant’s Judgement? He set up and tried using that at me and I thought I was done for But this is when I discovered it was a bless attack. My Gabriel, absorbs bless… So I just healed from his special attack, I was actually laughing my ass off
Actually the final phase can literally be killed off by 10 Magic Oinments. Not sure if it's by design, but it makes sense that he's so cocky that he forgot how to use Tyrant's Fist or Tyrant's Wave and killed himself.
I actually saw him use tyrant's fist when I fought him during the 1v1 part. Luckily I had girimehkala which reflects physical attacks and a few magic ointments, and I just put on a magic ointment every turn and let him kill himself. It was pretty hilarious lol. Won by the skin of my teeth though since the last ointment I had was the one that killed him (used the crap out of them in previous phases too)
Joker's Fight with Shido was a long time in the making. After getting Joker arrested for trying to save a Woman that Shido was about to have his way with, Joker can finally have the closure he needed badly.
For some reason whenever I watch someone do bosses for this game I always find it painful to watch and I end up doing an improved battle if I’m at that stage of the game
HPDarkCloud that’s correct. I actually just finished this fight the other night. I had King Frost as my persona at the time who has Null Bless as a natural affinity. It blocked it during the both the regular True fight and the new portion.
I just noticed something interesting. I wonder if the dev team inspired some of Shido's bulky form from Yujiro Hanma ? Since I noticed he has a similar 'demon face' on his lats when you look at him from the back-- and then the form that he takes at 25:25 is damn near identical to Yujiro's serious stance.
Come to think of it. Shido is almost similar to Mengsk from Starcraft, the reason is that and I quote: "I will not be stopped. Not by you, or the Confederates, or the Protoss, or anyone! I will rule this sector or see it burnt to ashes around me."
I just beat this fight and for the final phase i equipped shiva and just spammed psycho force oh ya and the fact that shiva resists a lot of stuff made it pretty easy
They could just called their persona to swim or some shit EDIT: I mean, Ryuji persona is a friking pirate ship, and Yusuke could freeze the water, Futaba could fly and take some of them with her with the tentacles from her awakening
When I played throught persona 5 I was glad to fight shido (way underleveled tho) it made getting back at him alot more fun. At this current moment of writing this comment I'm fighting him in royal. I can say having a literal god on your side makes this fight a lot easier (am currently level 64)
When I did this boss, I had Ryuji, Morgana, and Ann in my party. It was a good way to end the guy who was responsible for everything and how the OG squad fought him. Who else fought Shido with the OG members?
I’m having a lot of trouble in this boss. I know how to beat him but I can’t. What team setup do I start with what Personas do I make. I’m at level 65.
Which one? The fight has quite a few changes. The Pyramide is now resistant to gun, new Movesets for the second fight, Tyrants Glare leads to different attackchains and the 1v1. I think you mean the 1v1. Yeah I can see that. However for me Shido decided to spam Megidolaon, Tyrants Judgment, Debilitate and Heat Riser. That was so problematic for me.
@@IexistIguessidk He was alot harder for me in My 1v1 than in this video, akin to what you say, he kept spamming Megidolan and heat rising while killing of half of my HP so i had to heal and defend and debuff like a merry go run. Idk if it was due to me playing on Hard though.
