In an ongoing effort for ATLUS to keep avoiding making Persona 6, there's yet another Persona 5 spinoff that released in late 2023. This time we have Persona 5 Tactica as the Phantom Thieves' latest adventure, where get this...! You travel to another world based on someone's cognition... only it's now a tactics based game! Did that sell you? No? Well too bad, we're talking about it anyway.

Persona 5 Tactica is the latest Persona 5 game in the Persona series to be made by ATLUS. Persona 6 doesn't seem like it's going to be made anytime soon by ATLUS, so we have Persona 5 Tactica instead. Persona 5 Tactica is a tactics based game and another Persona spinoff, starring the new characters Erina and Toshiro. Join me, Nam's Compendium, and the Phantom Thieves in my review of Persona 5 Tactica, where we go over how it's a good game that came at the wrong time.

My only real issue with the spinoffs, at the heart of it, is that rather than build to something, they'll just go "another one" until it ends up being the last one for a set of characters

ok a few things 1: how did you not realise that triple threats only activate if theres a downed enemy within the triangle? 2: i personally loved the story and was able to see some enjoyment in the slower or deeper moments, idk how i have a ultra high tolerance 64 for theese games, but i love it nonetheless. 3: i think the fatiuge has something to do with P5R coming to other platforms. dont forget how long its been since strikers/Q2. i dont think we would be fatiuged if it wasnt for the echo chamber of the internet and the ports to other platforms. 4: PLEASE PLAY MARIO + RABBIDS!!!!!!

I’ll always be a fan of the spinoff games because at least they’re good games. Tactica really did not deserve to be so lambasted in the community.

I will say I am glad P5T came out. Before it I never tried a Tactics game. I did enjoy this game so much and found that I did enjoy tactic games. So after playing this game I have played a few more tactics game. So it introduced me to an genra I never tried before and enjoy. I am currently playing Fire Emblem 3 houses now thanks to P5T

Tactica’s villains lacking depth is logical though. The palace rulers in base P5(+R) & Strikers are based on real people, but the villains here are based on Toshiro’s PERCEPTIONS of real people. There is a filter there. Toshiro couldn’t possibly read their minds, be aware of what drove them to be the way they are, and so they lack that layer. You’re never fighting the people they’re based on to begin with, you’re fighting what they represent to Toshiro

When talking about the same/similar names, they didn’t even reference the Makoto thing. I understand p3 Makoto has the p3 protagonist title to fall back on, but it’s still there.

I honestly liked all the Persona spin offs I tried so far. I love Q and Streikers and liked Q2. But Tactica was kinda just OK to me. Not sure why. Meybe it is P5 fatiuge. But I must say I like almost all the side characters from the spin offs. I love Zen, Rei and Zenkechi and I like Sophia, Toshiro and Erina. Only the girl from Q2 I could not get in to.

It's a pretty decent game, just too easy and way too many cutscenes instead of gamplay which is a big issue. But P5T is manily just something for us to enjoy while we wait for P6 which has started development around the same time as P5T and P3R

To me the Persona 5 spinoffs are just NEW Lynn Albums that include a free game with it and I’m down bad. Paying $20 just for Quiet Storm was an easy decision 😂

13:48 OK THIS REALLY PISSED ME OFF TRASH they don't mention the name SO WHAT Eri looks at acts EXACTLY like Erina that is more than enough to be sus they didn't mention the name because it was that obvious also yes they do became aware that Eri and Erina are connected that doesn't mean they figured out what Erina fucking is given that she is the only person with special powers in that world that isn't evil. Also they have no idea what to expect you might because your the player but they don't they just get the info, might act shocked, keep it in their minds and continue to find the truth The fact that you downplayed the thieves intelligence so hard because they didn't mention the one OUT OF THREE FUCKING SIMLIARTIES THEY DO MENTION ACTUALLY MAKES ME MAD AND MAKES ME WONDER IF YOUR TRYING TO NOT GIVE THIS GAME CREDIT. and no I don't hate either of you

I find the complaint fans make that Persona 5 Tactica shouldn’t exist because it took development time away from Persona 6 makes no sense because Tactica is obviously a smaller project. It’s like saying Persona Q delayed Persona 5 Also the people who say Tactica takes time away from Persona 6 don’t say anything about Persona 3 Reload which inarguably took a lot more time and recourse to develop.

Well I do like this game I do have the same sympathies to The persona fanbase Is feeling like the Persona 5 is being milked on Though I will give Atlas This they do try to make unique and original spin-offs rather than than going for the typical Japanese RPG Games though when the does come to the newer Titles or remix a old one they just keep the same But improving upon it which I think is fair enough Just please Atlas let persona 5X be the last one And move on to 6

Lol, I'm seeing a lot of people complaining about milking the series with spin-offs, I guess they forgot about how P4 got miliked. P5 did far better than P4 in sales, so be prepared to see a bunch of spin-offs. I'd be surprised if Tactica was the last spin-off with the P5 cast.

Still holding out for P5 Arena, ideally with the adult P2 cast with the rumors of a remaster (not P1 cast though. Timeline wise they'd be way too old to still be fighting if I remember right)

Compared to fire emblem three houses, fire emblem engage is much easier to beat 😂 I already beat fire emblem engage once already and I even beat its DLC side story once When will you do a trash or treasure of fire emblem engage? Hopefully before the next fire emblem game comes out because as of me writing this comment, Nintendo still didn’t announce a new fire emblem game lol

I was also disappointed by the soundtrack but it's not because Shoji Meguro wasn't involved but because Atsushi Kitajoh wasn't. He is the new main composer for Persona and he has done a fantastic job on Strikers, the Q games and Reload. Shoji Meguro actually hasn't been the main composer for a bit, but I didn't notice at all, it's just this game that had such a boring soundtrack.

I found this spinoff boring, like the gameplay I could not get into. And like, the issue with these P5 spinoffs is that they just aren't continuing the stories per say of the thieves. Besides Strikers all of these are happening in the middle of P5 and it's kind of getting stale. If we are going to keep getting P5 spinoffs, please have them be after P5 so we can see the characters progress like they did in Strikers.

Ngl I wish the persona fandom would stop being hypocrites people say they tired of P5 stuff yet say absolutely nothing when P3 gets its same story retold for like the 10th time, if we are gonna say P5 is being milked then so is P3, at least P5 is giving us a variety of new games

People have been asking for a Persona 3 remake for over a decade. The last thing that was purely P3 related was a dancing game, and that came out 6 years ago.So, the hype and excitement were warranted.

Persona 5 feels milked because it's been getting consistent content since 2016. With p3, most of its extra content has been incredibly divisive, The Answer, Portable, the recent port of Portable and Dancing Moon Night all have their fair share of controversy so people are glad to finally get p3 content that most people admit is straight up good.

@@sonsiqueCan't really speak on Dancing but the only other two Persona 5 spin-offs (Tactica and Strikers) are literally the best spin offs this series has ever gotten with Strikers being mainline level quality

@@connorharnage6697 when strikers came out persona 5 wasn’t overblown. i think you forget that strikers is 4 years old at this point. and tactica, for as good as it is, is not a $60 game. and is a small flicker at the end of what felt like an endless tunnel of mediocre mobile game crossovers. i think that something like tactica had to be as outstanding, if not better than strikers (which isn’t isn’t) to wash the taste of the 4 years of mediocrity out of my mouth.

I think persona 4 was milked way more than 5. Yeah persona 5 had more spin-offs but persona 4 spin-offs were much more cashgrab. Arena got two games and been in blazblue cross tag. Persona 4 cast been in both the q games. The dancing game exists and also the ps4 version stuck behind a special edition of the 3 & 5 dancing game as well locked behind a digital bundle of both games. The dlcs for the dancing game are cashgrab along with paid dlcs for a ps4 port for a 2014 vita game! Yeah persona 5 isn’t indecent but at least it’s much easier to play and the dlcs for royal are free (at least now they free). Strikers is a fine game and tactica is actually feel more canonical to royal (unlike strikers) the dlcs of tactica is actually better than any of the persona 4 spin-offs dlcs.
