Mature enough to cash a check but not mature enough to read the memo line on the check? And the two of them have CHILDREN?! Lord have mercy.

They don't even have the decency to look ashamed of themselves.

The sad part the truly sad part is that this young couple are raising a child. They don’t have the basic common sense between them to realize that they screwed over their mother’s friend and they don’t care.

The defendants are smirking and clearly think it's all a big joke. They're pathetic. But the plaintiff was even dumber for taking a loan against his house for money he didn't actually have himself, to lend these two fools he barely even knew, money.

20 and 21 years old couple with a 3 years old kid already ? Yikes. Not a smart life choice.

We thought it was a gift bcz we're just too darn cute for anyone to ask us for their money back. Geez.

We lived paycheck to paycheck and didn't have the means to pay anything back but can afford to have a car? Daily usage is not free (maintain, gas, insurance, registration). Geez.

People have no morals. If I thought money was a gift and the person who gave it to me asked for it back, I would just find a way to pay it back. They must need it, and they gave me money when I did. I’d pay $5, $20 whatever I could and constantly be assuring the person I’d pay them back as soon as I could. I don’t know, I just don’t know why people would even accept thousands from a stranger at all. Even as a loan.

He actually IS saint Nick. May he be blessed for this and not continually hurt.

Judge should stop calling them "kids" they are adults that have a kid

Let’s be CLEAR. The plaintiff didn’t ‘have’ to take out a loan, don’t loan money you don’t have. The defendants are saying they don’t accept charity but gladly cashed the check and I believe they read the check, they didn’t want to admit it in court. Kids raising kids and trying to scam in hopes that they wouldn’t get sued.

The defendants are scumbags plain and simple. They knew it was a loan but they decided to play the young and naive card and that made them look even more foolish 👶👶

If you are dumb enough to lend people money, at least get a proof of the loan in several forms of writing. Write a promissory note and have them read it on video and sign it. Also, get a text and email and have them respond. Never pay with cash and use a check with a memo on it that it is a loan not a gift.

The plaintiff needs to learn how to be impeccable with his word. He told the judge that he felt out the daughter and that his family beats him up. He has some kind of delusional glitch, where his definition of things is his reality. So he thinks it's ok to take out a loan on his mortgage to help others.

This generation is always trying to take advantage of the fact that they're young and use it as an excuse to absolve them from being held accountable for their poor choices and behavior. They actually believe that by claiming that they're naive and broke because of their age, that they should get a free pass or at least be cut some slack.
