Changed the sprockets, installed a header. Much better performance. And hey, everyone, for greater interest, join a bunch of us like minded track people on our Facebook Group "Personal Track Vehicles"!
It has a differential axle with brakes on each side so when you brake one side, the other axle (and track) keeps turning. Some of my early videos show more details.
The tracks are 180X60X39. Most any track supplier can help you from there. Summit LLC was my source. the sprockets were tricky because I had to copy the exact configuration from the Honda powered wheelbarrow. Then I had a machine shop cut them out of 1" steel which I then shaped. The shop probably still has the measurements. It was like eighty bucks for both.
Hello from Germany I also make a trackes vehicle but I need amother like yours ;o) Can you show what type of differential axle you take? ...My vehicle uses hydraulic drives- search for flizzebee in youtube thank you, Ron
Reliability is really the key for long distance, coast-to-coast trip. I don't have to go real fast, just real far! I will be building an entire new frame, properly welded and gusseted for strength. In addition, I will be pulling a small, custom built trailer with supplies so there are a lot of things to consider.
I guess I don't know what you are are referring to. This is five years ago. My next one had a very good suspension. As far as electric, not real practical for a 3,500 mile cross country trip.
Look at personaltrackedvehicle.com. My build is very similar and he has plans, but not very detailed. I am planning on building an entire new frame and plan on going step-by-step with measurements, parts and details, but not sure when.
Sorry about the spelling and everything he was a really an outdoors person and I hate to get any more stuck up in the house and stuff like that happen if they really give him his freedom
Congratulations, very nice job! Im planning on doing the same but with an atv (2 tracks only), do you have a detailed build up on your videos? Also how do you lock the differential when a track is stuck and the other one runs free? Thanks for your comments
Carlos David Galarza It's all in the Peerless differential that runs within six pillow block bearings. The whole unit is driven by a sprocket mounted on the "pumpkin" as some might refer to it. As it turns, the axles both turn equally, and you go straight. When one brake is activated, it slows that axle but the "pumpkin" and other axle continues to rotate, thus it turns. Hope that helps. As far as plans, I am pretty close to building a new one, and I will go step by step from the ground up and offer material descriptions and measurements. Stay tuned!
Thanks for watching. No plans! However, I started another series entitled "PTV Build 1 - Prep" that walks through the process. I hope that helps you! Chuck
@@Personal_Track_Vehicle friend id buy planes how did u learn all the parts and how to turn it ..see thats why id need planes ..id like u to try to make planes id send u 20 or 30 bucks for planes id love to build one ...if u can make me planes and step by step that would be so dam cool ...if not ok..
@@stanleykafara3826 I am sorry that I am not good at writing plans but I do show how to build one from my other videos, including parts and measurements. Check it out! Thanks. PTV Build 1 - Prep - cut that and paste it into RU-vid and you can see how to do this.
If you look a bit further down on the comments you'll see the information. And I have other videos with much of the parts. If you want to write me at revchuckswarthout@gmail I can respond as well.
Really like the design are you offering plans for it i really want to get something like this going but don't need speed i would like it to run 10mph and have enough torque to pull a small trailer
I found the original gearing I had was 11 mph and it had great pulling power. I want to be able to have good top speed for a very long distance trip I am planning, as well as good low end for turning. I too, wish to pull a trailer on my cross country trip.
cwzwartewoude hey again. what is the track length you have on the ground? i was thinking 16:1 for the final drive ratio that wound be 144 ftlbs of torque at 2500rpm but my mph would be in the 5mph range i think.
A couple comments below I know that it's Summit Supply LLC and the size 180 by 60 by 39. Thanks for watching! I have a ton more videos as I'm building this next one.
scott241911 I note this several times in my videos, but I know not everyone sees them, so here again... Summit Supply, LLC. You can find them with a Google search. They are 180X60X39 and fit a Honda powered wheelbarrow, thanks for your interest! I am getting ready very shortly to build another from scratch, so stay tuned!
shawn rahaman tracks are from a Honda powered wheelbarrow, from Summit Tracks llc. I have seen so many track vehicles that didn't work out with home made tracks. My first PTV used truck tires with the sidewalls cut out. Did not work well for me.
