Jon trying not to swear in front of the kids is so funny

Jon’s grandfather’s cape, which he is wearing in this clip, is very heavy, made of thick wool and has a silk lining. I hugged Jon while he was wearing that cape. It is incredibly soft.

Troughton and Pertwee are terrific together.

God as a giant class who fan who was too young to ever have the chance to even go to these conventions. I thank you so much for posting these. It's warming my heart to see the joy and excitement all fans and actors had. And that ending with the singing going to have a special place in my heart. ❤

The genreational span of this series continues to be insane. Pertwee and Troughton literally served in the war. Tom Baker, of course, is my parents' generation (a little younger than my dad). And now the lead can be fifteen years younger than me. Or older. It's doesn't even matter. But this was my era of fandom, when I was a paid up member of DWAS and obsessional in exactly the same way as modern fans. Only without their energy!

Wish I was there

It's much like the banter between Pete Townshend and Keith Moon in The Who. Doctor Who, The Who. Things like this are vehicles for English eccentricity, which is great. Sylvester McCoy is loony too of course.
