You have just taught me this cut-down setting and I do love it... I am beginning practice EVERY DAY, to get this perfect!.... We will compare my work now to my work in a month's time!

The whole point of this setting is so you can set bigger stones, thus making the entire set part looking entirely made of diamond with no metal showing in between. Its really cool especially in chains.

Hello I know its been 3 years but I am trying stone setting like this and have an issue with the prongs shearing off.I am using sterling.would it be easier to bend the prongs if the metal is annealed first?
