I splurged and bought the 30th Anniversary Secret Lair and that was a great product. You knew exactly what you were getting, so there wasn't a whole lot of excitement of opening other than if you got the foil or the non-foil, but each year was it's own one-card pack and it was a lot of fun. This marquee product they put out was so horrible and such a huge PR / customer relations disaster.
@@vexguine Did they sell out? They were supposedly taken down early from their initial posting because of how slowly they were selling. In either case, making money quickly by hosing your customers isn't a good long-term strategy.
The badlands on this magic 30 version looks like trash compared to the real revised, unlimited etc ... What a complete waste of money buying this. I dont ever recall feeling like celebrating 30th anniversary of MTG back when this was released. What a disappointment and wasted opportunity for wizards 😢
Wow what a rip off!!! You can buy actual REAL reserved list cards that are cheaper than this! You could buy 3 original dual lands! Oh and their proxies!!! WTF?! I’m glad the president of WOTC just stepped down. This is an absolute disaster. What a total middle finger to customers!
Im not a magic fan or anything but that doesn't look like its worth 1k. They should have included a metal anniversary card like pokemon did. But thats just me.
Magic 30th is a horrible product. WotC has been dancing around potential legal issues with Magic 30th since its inception. I am personally glad it crashed and burned. Hopefully all those ridiculously expensive proxies end up in the shredder. The best part of this opening is that you Ally were able to do it.
Good to see you have enough energy for a box opening. That's a good sign. Your videos are a nice respite. I don't go around talking about it a lot, but My Fiance is deathly ill. She's 14 years younger than me but lives in a nursing home. Her pre-existing Type 1 Diabetes combined with the fact she was in a Coma with Covid for 14 days back in 2020 to pretty much destroy several of her organs. She now needs a kidney and heart transplant. She's in and out of the hospital a lot. Watching your box openings is fun and a nice time away from the medical grind of life. I'm sorry you were so Ill, and I'm glad you're better. Sorry for the short novel.
i said that a long time ago. 10 to 20 dollars a pack, and they wouldve gotten a whole lot less heat. and the bigger slap in the face, after Trashbro made people shell 1000 dollars on it and then gave it out for free 3 times in a row, and then dumped it in the garbage can.🤣🤣What type of cheddar cheese hot potato shit is this. Way to go "Bliz"zards.
I love your lgs! A few weeks ago I stopped at 4 other lgs and nobody had a sealed dom remaster collector box left but you guys. It had a borderless force of will and was a blast to open. The issue with this is its disingenuous. If it was super cheap and afford like it should be...printing the reserved list cards for the sake of a throw away gimmick would be awful. If you could rewind time and everyone never heard $1000...if it was $150 a box for 36 packs, I imagine the argument would be why cheapen the most expensive cards down to what comes off as a alternative silver/gold border set. So then you have the conundrum of does removing the RL cards while making it cheap just take away from the intended experience? I don't know. Everyone said stuff like their secret lair at the time - which reprinted an iconic card printed each of the 30 years was good. In general price or not this idea should have just been taken back to the drawing board. Ideas are so infinite settling on this was crazy for them. I think the people who ultimately settled on it aren't core mtg fans. Love you guys!
It really was a good idea if made for draft so new and the younger generation would know what it feels like to draft the real cards. Just make the cards a little bit smaller so they can't be played in regular Mtg at all. It wouldn't hurt any value of originals. And they would still make a lot of money as kind of a side game. Put cards from all the first hard to get and expensive sets in the packs.
HI Ally, I missed you. sorry to here about your stay in the hospital ,Happy you are feeling better and yes you need to take care of your health. Wishing you all my love and prayers. Jose V.
I love how many shops are destroying their Magic 30th overpriced, promise breaking, proxy product in creative ways. A woodchipper or cutting up the cards to turn into buttons is a great way to make a statement. Hopefully you guys don't sell them and contribute to WotC's abominable treatment of their game and it's players, but I can never fault an LGS for making money. Wizards doesn't make it easy to profit from Magic, so you have to take those wins when and where you can get them. I just wish this was a much cheaper product we could have drafted or played limited with. I haven't got to play limited with these cards in nearly 3 decades and that would have been incredible for old and new players, but instead we got this cash grab nonsense.
