OMG, I feel sooo sorry for you. I discovered scale on a tiny Vanda yesterday and FREAKED out. Checked all other plants of this shipment I received 2 month ago and didn't find anything... yet. After literally soaking it with each and every insecticide I have, it now has a very seperate, lonely place in my appartment. I sincerely hope you finally get rid of these intruders. NO MERCY for these insects!!! Many regards!

these ones are easy cause you can see them with a naked eye, but everyone one says they're terrible to get rid of, so i hope you never find any! we've had mealy bugs and spider mites before, but those are relatively easy.
Very helpful in identifying thrips...i check my plants often but never get to really see them like how you showed it with microscope...i hope you will be successful in your treatments...its a very sad feeling when our plants get infestations. Im familiar with scales, now mealy bugs, and finally i know what thrips look like from your video. Thank you...

Hi there! I totally feel your pain. I deal with thrips as well. My seem to affect leaves more than flowers but some flowers are definitely affected as well. We don’t have insecticides here in Canada that are good at controlling them. We don’t have systemics. I bought a sulfur vaporizer that Roger and tropical plants at 53 degrees have used for their pest issues. I have not been able to use it yet as temps are to low to open the windows to air out the sunroom after using the vaporizer. I am only hoping that it works well. You have my sympathies and best wishes I. Getting rid of those darn thrips. I would like to hear if you get rid of them or not. Thanks so much for your video.
thank you for watching! so far the systemic seems to be working, but we'll have to keep checking periodically. I didn't know Canada was even stricter with insecticides than the EU. I'm pretty sure these two we used are only allowed because they're so low concentration, anything else you need a special licence. I hope the sufur works for your plants!
Thrips are vile retched creatures! So hard to irradicate them out of a big collection. May try oil to suffocate them. But systemic is good. That way they die by eating plant. Unfortunately damage is done but they won't keep biting it should kill them. Hang in there. I'm going through same thing! That cycle! I had ladybugs 🐞 come and they wiped them out for me. thank you! we wish we could use natural predators here as well, but they're not easy to find for sale. The oil is a good idea, we have used mineral oil in our home made insecticide before, but completely forgot about it!

we got it from Amazon years ago, I don't think they sell them anymore. It was a cheap Plugable Technologies USB microscope and it has 250x augmentation. i hope you can find something equivalent, they are also just fun to have and check out things under the microscope.
thank you for the suggestion, it's always nice to have another one we can use in case our current ones dont work. Looking at the ingredient list, the actives it has are in the same family of the insecticide we were using, but anything available in Europe that works is good to have in the back pocket.
