Great topic! We provide a large crate for them, a lint rollers for owners and Natures’s Miracle under the sink! Q: are pet fees through resolution center subject to the service fees like the rest of the reservation for hosts and guests?

Hi, this is such a great video. I am confused about what to put in the pet fee "amount per stay" section. Also do you have an example of how to explain this in my House Rules section. I have quickly realized I am losing a lot of money charging a flat fee. This is a challenge. Thank you so much. I'm a newbie Airbnb host and have learning sooo much from the two of you.

Gotta disagree on this one. Allowing animals is just not for everyone. We recently *had* to take an ESA on an airbnb booking (no pet fees allowed for ESAs). The guest let the dog on every bed in the whole house AFTER taking the linens off the beds (even a bunk bed with stairs). I spent 4 days trying to get dog hair (short hard hairs) out of EVERYTHING including every throw pillow, fabric chairs, curtains, etc! Plus the cleaner spent 2 whole turnover times there to help clean. This is a small 3/2 house only 1700sf. Had it been a typical same day turnover we literally would have needed to cancel the incoming guest. If we are ever forced to take a dog again we will just know that I must take all new linens for every place linens are used in the home to the turnover ready to change everything instead of trying to wash linens on that day. I'm not talking just fitted sheets, flat sheets and duvet covers BUT ALSO all zippered bed bug encasements, fitted waterproof mattress covers, pillow protective covers, pillow cases, pillows and duvets. Everything had embedded dog hair and most had to be replaced. Went through 2 HUGH lint rollers too. So many wash loads. Starting all linens in the dryer after reading it will loosen many of the hairs. That really was a good tip. Lint trap filled with dog hair then washed each item. Still some embedded hairs remained We were just hoping the next guest did not have *pet allergies* even though we scoured the home and contents for days to get rid of the dog hairs. We had to replace most every piece of the bedding because those hard dog hairs were EMBEDDED in everything. Guest had noted on arrival that he travels with a *dog blanket* that would be on our couch at all times and dog would only be on that. Not true in the least. It was terrible. It is sad that people who need an ESA feel so entitled that they won't just seek out *pet friendly properties* but instead book places like ours that specify *family members with pet allergies so please book elsewhere if you travel with animals*. These guests and AirBnB have decided that guests with ESAs are more important than people with pet allergies. We have had many people with pet allergies book that cited it was because we do not allow pets in the house that they booked with us and we have some steep competition in our area. Ty for the video. Great video ladies! A couple questions: What do you put in the pet fee "amount per stay" section of Airbnb? When I put $0.. it tells the guests pets stay for free. -Do you have "insant booking" on your listings? Do you communicate the pet fees after they book? I find most people don't read my rules prior to booking. I've had people assume bc we are pet friendly there is no extra fee. -How do you qualify "service dogs"? Do you ask for papers?

I have a question ❓I hope someone can give me an answer ❓ People who are disabled with special needs like a child or adult ... how come some people are charging fee for a service dog even though that's illegal service dog are not pets .Our beloved son is disability he doesn't understand what is happening around him we told the husband over the phone we have a son that has autism he understood but the wife didn't know nothing about disability right the service dog is there take my sure my son was not going to have a seizure the husband was in charge of the airhub. The wife still wants more money the husband was telling her (you can't charging a service dog they are not pets ) In the end we got a refund back ....I just want to share my son story😢😢😢 💔 We left because she yelled at my son the frist day 😥 we got there I want to make sure this doesn't happen to another family member.....we report it to the app side airhud apologize to us they are no longer on the app .....

Were in a very seasonal market. We have 10 properties. So far we have had a no pet policy. We are hoping to stand out from the other bnbs by being pet friendly. This video was very helpful. What about a security deposit? Are you relying on aircover to cover this? If you do charge a refundable pet deposit how to you handle this? Thanks

Do you provide an extra kennel for people who didn’t bring one or couldn’t fit in their car? My dog-owning siblings say their dog would never use a kennel other than what they are used to and therefore we shouldn’t bother having a kennel on site. Thoughts?

How do you communicate how the pet fee will be communicated? Is there insurance that can be required a guest to purchase booking on airbnb?

I have never hosted pets before, but am now strongly considering. Are we able to file a claim if the blinds or a chair is severely chewed ? Is there something we can do to get a pet deposit ( perhaps on PMS - hospitable)?

Am I able to charge this additional fee if I have only 1 property? I searched AirBnb on this subject and it says if you manage 6 or more listings you can add additional fees to your listing and collet them at time of booking.

How do you set this up with Airbnb resolution center?

Service dogs aren’t pets, so should we expect them to stay free? What about emotional support animals? I’m the one doing the cleaning, and I have animal allergies which are far worse with some breeds than others (worst with cats). TIA!!!
