Thank you for your great videos. My vet has mentioned that peas, lentils and chickpeas are not good for dogs in the long run. I am curious what your thoughts are about that?

We're working with our new pup and Brandon's advise was just what I needed. Wish he'd just come and train for me haha but it's good for us and happy to have this new set of tools to use on our pup.

I would LOVE to see a ranking video for commercial raw/fresh foods. I feed my pups FreshPet (specifically the multi-protein formula) but if there's a better option I can afford I'd gladly look into it.

The ingredients low tier in my opinion. I’d recommend apupabove or open farm or small batch for gently cooked and smallbatch, Steve’s real food, primal, tuckers, northwest naturals (I could keep going) for raw food. Hope this helps!

I literally appreciate your videos soo much! You have helped make me such a better dog mom(switched to Orijen dog food because of a previous video you did and my pups LOVVVVVE IT and I feel so much better feeding a dog food with such good ingredients) , I’m wondering if the different varieties such as (small dog , original, etc) actually matter? I’ve noticed most of the time the ingredients are very similar.

I asked the women at the pet store I shop (Krisers Natural Pet), I asked the difference between stella &Chewy's small breed and the regular, and she said the difference is that the small breed has smaller kibble that may crumble more easily. But she said there is no difference in the ingredients. This is also a question you can email to the pet food company you use. Stella and chewys for example, responded to my inquiry within just a couple of hours. 🖤🐾

Orijen is terrible which causes heart failure in dogs over time. The foods that vets recommend are purina pro plan science diet and royal canine. Canine nutritionist do not have the same credentials as a veterinarian nutritionist. I wouldn't listen to anything on this channel. Also stop reading pet food ingredients. ITS ALL MARKETING TO GET YOURE MONEY!!

@@TheTattooedDogTrainer I was hoping for this too. The employee recommended this brand when we adopted our 6 month boxer and she seemed to like it. But I just bought a bag of blue buffalo to transition her to because I wanted something more widely available I could grab with my regular groceries. Was wondering how they would compare?

How do you feel about Authority beef and rice puppy formula which was recommended by petsmart employees and banfield vet which is also inside petsmart for my frenchie puppy but now I feel scammed 😢

@@terezasolo1114petsmart employees are trained to influence people to buy the proprietary brands like authority and simply nourish because it makes them money. Most of the employees use it because they get a discount but overall it’s not a good quality food. Corn and byproducts in the 1st 5 ingredients

For working retrievers, I feed the highest fat, highest protein kibble on the market: Red Paw Poweredge 32k. First ingredient is menhaden. A favorite kibble among mushers up here in interior Alaska. Expensive but worth it...525 kcal/cup.

Thank you so much I was so pissed off trying to read online blogs or other things or big websites ranking food and it just felt like all of them are being bought out by the dog food companies to give them good reviews and you were being very open with your opinion and it's so easy for me to actually be like yo this is all s*** this is good. I use Purina pro plan seems reviews show it is least likely to kill my dog. I always mix real food every day. Sometimes he has small amounts of just dry food not much. I researched your upper recommended brands. All had issues.

I've been studying animal nutrition for years as well. One thing here I don't like here is your ranking of the Liberty food. Can't forget that the chicken as the first ingredient is by weight before the cooking process, so I suspect the lentils is probably the first ingredient by weight as a finished product. Still better than most I guess, but as an exclusive DIY raw feeder, I have a hard time praising ANY kibble. Great content for kibble feeders to do better, and I have shared some of your videos on my FB page.

QUESTION! First of all thank you so much for the video. We have three dogs that have been doing great on Castor and Pollux dog food for years and years. One of our dogs lived to 17 on this food healthily, we have a 15-year-old pup who has eaten nothing but Castor and pullox and she is going strong and still chasing squirrels with no meds or dysplasia or anything.. Now they’ve discontinued our dog food, 😢 we have a few bags we’ve hoarded, but are looking for good parallel to that dog food. Do you have any suggestions?

I have read reviews and people write that dogs poop less and poops are smaller and a lot of dogs get better hair and weight on cold pressed. What is your experience? Love, x

Having two English bulldogs that can be the pickiest of eaters, I started buying skin on chicken thighs when they are on sale and boiling up 4 or 5 and then shredding the meat off the bone. I use the broth created from boiling to make brown rice mixed with peas, diced carrots and green beans and the shredded chicken meat. I now have 5 days worth of meals for them and they wolf it all down like a kid with Halloween candy. My wife has recently started making them baked treats consisting of oatmeal, peanut butter and canned pumpkin which they'll now eat before any commercial treat. my Our vet approves of this diet as they are getting their nutrients and especially since they are prone to being overweight.

I personally would probably lean towards Acana, but either would be a good option! Farmina would be another good brand to look into if you have access to it.

I’d love to hear your opinion on Canidae. We recently switched to their Pure salmon and sweet potato recipe. I’ve noticed that the kibble has changed in shape and in color. It used to be much smaller and darker. I haven’t looked to compare ingredient panels from the old to newer batches as I no longer have the old bags. I’ve spent countless hours deciding on what to feed our 3 bulldogs. Now that I thought I found one they went and switched up the kibble. Tell me I’m not crazy lol

Do you have an opinion on Merrick backcountry raw infused food? I know that raw coated kibble is sometimes scammy but this one seems promising because it’s pea and lentil free, poultry free and uses deboned meat as the first ingredient. Feeding good food to my dog is a priority and we used to have him on farmina but he hates eating it. It’s hard to find a high quality grain inclusive food.

Please review Natures logic Distinction!! Maybe vs Carna4. There is a huge price difference between the Canadian and American food with a similar formula although I know Natures Logic is extruded but they use dried ingredients to preserve all the nutrients. Thanks!

So I did some research about brewers rice and it’s actually not the rice hull or husk from what I read. It’s just the smaller broken pieces of rice left over from rice plants. Overall great video but I suggest you do your own research on some ingredients as well.

Nutro is perfect. My small breeds don’t eat anything but it. It contains Brewers Rice which is actually easy to digest and less likely to cause upset stomach or diarrhea

My issue was staying away from chicken which the pristine had in every flavor. Petsmart had Crave on clearance and my dog loved it but hey don’t have it anymore . I mostly get Merrick because of the No chicken meal/fat thing and she loves the freeze dried bits. She seems to like fishy flavors Best. I also give her meat , raw bones and various canned foods.

All her reviews are OPINIONS based on product labels, not any actual lab analyses. Her nutrition "certification" is from Dogs Naturally Magazine via a course they offer, not through any accredited educational organization. She is not an actual nutritionist.

I read elsewhere that brewers rice is actual rice, its just like sub par sushi rice or something like that a that people use for brewing because it has poor aesthetic value/difficult to cook with

You can bet she would give those a big thumbs down. She has a bias against corn. Same old same old nonsense. My previous lab lived a very health life all the way up to the end of his life(13) on Pro Plan.

@@MSDOGS1976 possibly, but she did give that other Purina company brand a good rating so I’d be curious on her thoughts. I’ve had 4 previous dogs who also lived long happy lives on only decent kibble and sometimes an egg. I’ve only looked at nutrition with my newest 2 pups. My 13 yr old was diagnosed with dementia. I know in people that nutrition and physical health have a lot to do with that diagnosis so I was thinking it could possibly be the same for dogs.

My neighbor has a Pit Bull. I just witnessed the dog being fed a panful of table scraps carelessly dumped on their back porch. I think it's because it's raining outside. and the cardboard box of high protein specialty dog food from Chewy they had delivered to their front doorstep today is all soggy and wet.

any info on hormonal supplements for pets? many shelter pets are neutered as babies and lose the much needed hormones for development. it leads to bones and joints problems, as well as many more. maybe some other relevant supplements that could help support their health in lack of sexual hormones.
