This video is showing how to complete the elongated stitch used in the Petaluma Kerchief.
The elongated stitch is used in both Row 10 and Row 18 showing (k1,ES), 4 times.
Instructions: Knit 1, Insert right hand needle into the small space between the right twist stitch and the left twist stitch four rows below, wrap the yarn round the needle and pull up a long loop, elongating the loop to the length of the fabric and repeat this three more times.
The extra loops created in this motif will be resolved with the p2tog in the next row.The 2 stitch increase in this row will come from the yarn overs at the start and end of the row.
If you love the stitch pattern, you can keep knitting and it can make a beautiful triangle shawl.
The yarn in this video is Organic Cotton Sport in color No. 236 Jasper. The needle used is a size 5 (3.75mm).
