Certain pet stores have pledged not to sell dogs, cats, and even rabbits. They do however still sell birds, rodents, lizards, and fish, which face their own problems with breeding, shipping, and neglect.
So true! We're grateful for the stores that have stopped selling puppies and kittens, rabbits too! We especially love those that work with local rescue groups! Thanks for watching and your feedback!
It´s insane that you can can just grab a puppy from a petshop. I had to wait 2years for my pupper because the breeder wanted to be extra sure. No clue why the other comment got deleted. lol
I know! You would think we would have done away with pet stores a long time ago. Here in the States, pet stores grew in popularity after WWII because it was a way for people to get back on their feet financially. I would like to think we've evolved in our treatment of animals since then, but so many of the laws (or lack thereof) regarding our companion animals just aren't what they should be.
