The whole "this channel uses graphics made from masking tape" was the best reply to that comment. 90% of us dont care about that. We are here to absorb as much knowledge as we can. Not to critique your filming skills. Screw those idiots.
Absolutely. Pete's videos are good enough quality for it not to get in the way of the content, much more than some other professional racers *cough*jefflutz*cough**cough*
Yall wanna see some flickering blinking lights just tune into a race and watch the any tree with LED stage bulbs. Before you tell me how to fix it I have tried setting shutter speed to roughly double the frame rate and everything in between and beyond. Whatever yall are complaining about on Pete’s videos I have never noticed. I think we should just appreciate the good stuff being shown to us here.
Even fox's top notch cameras can't compensate for the frequency of the tree up close. Most don't understand shutter speed to frequency and why led bulbs and Florescent bulbs act as if they are blinking.
Good on you clay for speaking up. Couldn't agree more. My wife's a professional photographer and lighting is a constant struggle no matter how good one is. Not every light is the same either. Ultimately at the end of the day who cares and why say anything. One doesn't even need to watch sometimes you just need to listen to absorb things.
Pete keep on shredding. Your music shreds, your tunes shreds, your builds shreds! Don't let the trolls discourage you brother! I know a lot of us appreciate ALL of your content!
In December last year myself and Robby Abbott was lucky enough to be invited to Eric Yosts home for a slow cooked brisket, after the brisket I have ever had we were joined by Pete for some beers around the camp fire. Me and Rob were lucky enough to hear some of the best story’s about engine building and chassis building from 2 of the best in the world. One of the most memorable drinking sessions I’ve ever had! Hopefully one day I return the favour in my backyard here in Australia. Thanks Pete, love your RU-vid channel BTW.
Some of those comments had me SMFH. Love what you do. I personally dig the music crossover. Much better than the stock music you hear in every other channel’s videos.
Love the content Pete. People that enjoy your content aren’t here for the production value. We are here for the knowledge and you are a gold mine in that regard.
I get so tired of people commenting on audio etc on my channel. I subscribe to channels for the content, not the production quality. I love the tape and the shared knowledge of this channel great work Pete! Have a great day🤩🤩
Minus the people that are actually upset about nonsensical things, lol - the fun trolling that you catch and deliver back (the fun comments/replies), the people that are just genuinely excited and wanting to learn about engines, tuning and drag racing is awesome as hell to see
Probably because a high percentage of his followers came over from Cleetus’ channel. And we all know most of his followers are pretty ignorant about the technical stuff.
@@danmyers9372well, as a fan of Cleetus AND Pete, I watch them both for the same reasons, no attitudes, no drama, and no BS. I believe both are incredibly talented at what they do, are funny, have a HELL of a strong work ethic, and genuinely treat people rite....pretty good traits if you ask me
Hey Pete, just wanted to take a second to comment based on all the negative comments you showcased in this video. I wanted to shed some light on something immensely positive you do. I am very large in the two stroke world but only learning in the four stroke world.. Your content is right there with Steve Morris.. You both take the time to teach your audience, it's one thing to show what you do or how you do it.. You guys explain why and i cannot tell you how much i appreciate you taking the time to edit and record these videos so a four stroke dummy like me can learn something new.. thank you Pete keep up the good work and stuff
Exactly!! 20yrs ago, you NEVER saw a premiere engine builder, yet alone have a chance to interact with them.. I credit Pete and Steve for not only giving us tidbits to think about, but doing it on social media, and being open honest!! Even if they F up, they own it!
F those haters man I love your channel!!! I've been watching Cleetus for a long time and you are 100% responsible for a lot of his success! Keep up the videos!!
Delta is a way to express "Rate of Change." That's all it really is. So as Harrell said in the video, that can be applied to many different things in life. Examples are: How far does the sun move in the sky over a given period of time? How far does a rear shock travel in the suspension of a race car over the distance of a quarter mile? Delta is often introduced in algebra, but usually understood better in a geometrical sense. A little time spent understanding Slope will help. When you see that little triangle shape in the algebraic equations, that usually means delta (rate of change).
@@justinwebster7761One day perhaps the internet will have smell-a-vision and the ability to be able to reach though your screen so can guzzle a jerk every once in a while. Have a good day and a better tomorrow.
Hey Pete so LED's have PWM (pulse width modulation), theyre essentially strobing so fast you pick that up as brightness. Because camera sensors also sorta work that way youre catching the on off between camera cycles hilariously. Thats why helicopter blades look like theyre not moving if the sync is just right between motion and shutter speed. You'd have to change your shutter speed or go to uhh flourescents again... or honestly just don't care. I'm here for the music and the knowledge and I like how good you are at doin stuff.
7:14 any ‘Animals’ Floyd referral is indeed flattering, since dude knows about that record. that era extends to the ‘Live at Pompeii’ days with a badass live version of “Echoes” that should be played in entirety by anyone with ears attached to a heart, at least once or thrice per month by everyone. cool. thanks. you’re welcome. we could all have beers.
Pete, God you're killing it man. I love how you talk to these clowns with the dumb questions. I could probably never afford a car that is deserving of something you build, but I'm here for the wittiness and commentary. Nice job keeping the clowns in check.
Love this Q&A. Pete is such a good-natured dude and so kind to share his knowledge with the world. The world would be a better place with more Pete's. I bet if the internet trolls tried to be more like Pete, they might actually be able to be good at doin' stuff. Probably never real good... just good. Do better kids.
Everything garret touches just so happens to turn to gold.. except performance parts.. they usually turn to man glitter.. lol.. thanks for the video pete
Pete, obviously there’s keyboard jockeys out there that don’t know what they’re talking about. I love the content you’re real genuine, good dude they don’t love it. They can get off of it. Keep up the good work, brother.
Such a Pete Fan!!!! Love his knowledge-sharing and such but more importantly.. he's REAL. Thanks, Pete And BTW .. who gives a shit about his lights. It's his knowledge you should be paying attention to.
Rude as some of those comments were, intro guy is accidentally right. Viewer retention metrics on RU-vid did away with long intros a long time ago, and you'd likely see increased channel performance by killing it off. Cleeter has the perfect format nailed down, straight into the video, quick splash screen after setting the scene, onto the action. Then you can have as long an outro as you'd like. Something to consider. Full support for using your Walmart purchased tunes in videos, adds great flavour to timelapses.
Fuck the haters, Pete! Like 99 99/100% of the folks here, I'm not here for super high end production, I'm here for the knowledge! Watching your videos is as close to actually being in the shop as you can get.
I am absolutely loving this content Pete. A "Psychedelic Engine Building Channel" is exactly what I needed. Never realized there were more of us in the center of that Venn Diagram. Rock on brother.
Content with meaning and knowledge like yours is rare and helping me understand these concepts much better. I appreciate the great automotive channels and this channel is on list.
Pete, its the 60hz cycle on the 110. A good way to avoid that is to use and AC to DC power supply and convert you lighting to DC. Alternatively you can use the RED website to calculate for light flicker. Also, for those who may still be wondering. Delta is literally the difference between two numbers. A pressure of 100psi and 75 psi has a delta of 25 psi. Easy peasy.
Pete - this is a such a great channel. Really enjoy the down to earth, skip the BS and get down to business content. The Q/A format in this video was great - engaging with your audience is awesome. I'll look for an opportunity to get a good question in at some point. Whatever you do, don't quit doing what you're doing!
LEDs blink if the driver is essentially a basic full wave rectifier. There are (more expensive) LED drivers and fixtures that do not blink because the driver is more complex and supplies clean DC to the LEDs.
Pete, thank you for this video, wading thru the smooth brain comments must have cost you a few brain cells😮 i have heard dome pressure a really great deal and never knew what it meant, your explanation was excellent. I could easily do with more of yor' learnin' and cyphering on the race car engines. NC accent is great by the way.
Q&A is great! Do it again periodically! Love the channel and wear my HED tee-shirt with pride. Music is great, too! Love the tape graphics and the lights are fine! Don’t change a thing!
Hey Pete, just want to say that I love your content and I think the film quality is fine. You're one of a small number of people sharing legitimately good knowledge on engine building and calibration. As for the music, it's unique and you're massively talented. It's not my cup of tea but the really cool thing is that I can fast forward through anything I don't want to see and the problem is solved. When you're on top, the haters want to bring you down. Keep doing what you're doing!
Continue being Pete and Doing Good Everything. Takes a pair to acknowledge all voices, though many of those voices are just bluejays squawking for attention because they actually think their opinions matter. Thanks for sharing and don't mind the opening rif because it is like a unique signature. Keep up the badass builds and tuning.
I like your comment… Can you imagine showing up on someone’s personal production and thinking you are somehow important enough or worthy enough to dictate how they do things?😂
Pete, there is a real good fix for all the lighting issues others have pointed out in your videos. Ignore those idiot whiners and just keep on doin stuff real good. The rest of us are here for the education, engine design knowledge and some racin.
Good point on safeties and costing races. It's hard to explain that the entire operation is relying a a bunch of relatively inexpensive sensors operating properly.
From what I have learned while making videos, there will always be someone who hates something you have done in a video (I'm sure you know this). At the end of the day make what you want to make and if you have hatters, you are growing. Keep doing stuff real good!!
Great job, Pete. I like that someone of your immense talents and knowledge takes the time to explain dome pressure or Delta etc... Thanks for all your do.
Lol the world's first psychedelic engine building shop. You may be on to something? And to your music, it's awesome, the mix of motors and rock is a great platform. Thumbs up
Pete….mate you’re brilliant, a top notch engine builder, cool musician and entertainer! I also loved the reference to the late Douglas Adam (Don’t Panic!). Keep up the great work👍
Only way to be if you’re a super competitive person. Way I’ve always looked at it is you can buy parts but you can’t buy wins/points (even if my wallet don’t like it lol) We do oval racing and we’ve tore so much stuff up over the years that would’ve been saved by a safety or pulling off the track but at end of night that transfer position or win and those season end points meant more to us than those parts or that engine
There’s only one complaint that I have and it’s that there’s not enough uploads. lol. I could watch your videos all day if could. I learn a lot from your videos. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.
You got me. I subscribed when you said I would have to subscribe to see if your filming skills improve. I could care less about it, but thought the statement was funny and you won me over. After finishing the video, I have to say I hope you don’t let some of the trolls get to you. Maybe the comments about your intro are music preference or hopefully they’re just complaining about the tape graphics. The music seems like it’s your passion and the footage shows what you’re into. Your music is great and it’s your channel. Tell them to pound sand down a rat hole if they don’t like it.
