is anyone smart anymore? in your little world full of racism, prejudice, bigotry and law breaking no one or nothing commented is more important than you and the DNC. Shameful and yet sad. Trump is your new prez. You should be grateful considering what your queen had in store for you. Gwen was full of hatred for the GOP and anyone associated. Had she been the national treasure so many thought she was she would have done a modicum of research and discovered that blacks are exactly where they were 8 years ago. They were betrayed. Instead, Gwen just believed and read what others told her and gave her to read. But of course we should not say that , because your party are the only ones that are entitled to opine. Ha! Ha! Ha!

is anyone smart anymore? Lol! I would sit there and listen to Ifil on PBS and could not believe the vomit that spewed out of her mouth. So, it's first hand knowledge. And, I've been around for the last thirty years to observe hc work and I agree with Colin Powell who said everything she gets involved in she profoundly screws up. So, no I did not vote for her. You sound deeply infected. I wish you well.

This is the first time I have seen Pete Williams so emotional about a death of a colleague. This is so difficult for him to speak. Many years ago, a local CBS newscaster died in a house fire and his colleague had to break the news on the broadcast. She broke into tears mid-sentence as she struggled to read the teleprompter. This is so sad.

I remember seeing her every time the pbs cartoons wrapped up each day. Didn't see alot of her work but for what I did see she seemed very nice. Rest In Peace Gwen Ifill.

I certainly had a great deal of admiration for Gwen Ifill. God bless and condolences to her family. It seems often that timing is more then coincidental. As I tuned into the PBS news and election coverage for 2016 every evening the phrase "because there is so much at stake" played on audio. I often wondered what this meant to others. I am quite sure Gwen passed away relieved, as so many of us are, that Donald Trump won and the ship will now be righted and the spread of tyranny, socialism and corruption slowed for now.

There is more friend, Consider how Obama "saved America"... Inadvertently. Democrats have paid an unprecedented price under eight years of President Barack Obama.When Obama took office in 2009, Democrats controlled the House and the Senate by substantial majorities. Democrats sat in 28 governor’s mansions and controlled nearly as many state houses. And in 17 states, Democrats controlled all three. Now democrats only control 4 states...period.This is not because of "racism" or any of the other ridicules lies that state propaganda machine (media) spew. It is because of Obama's failed policies and the overwhelming rejection of them by the American people. In the 45th presidency Donald Trump will appoint the supreme court justice that will effectively "save America" possible of course because of the abject failure that was the 44th president. I may be stupid... lol... but I am an informed stupid person.

"one of the most prominent African American journalists". Wow. Almost as if to say she was good but not quite as good as her non African American colleagues. That this reporter needed to bring up her race at all says exactly whats wrong with this country. Rest in peace Gwen, you will be missed and your contribution to the profession and the world is greatly appreciated. Thank you Mr. Williams for your respect and admiration for this woman.
