I do not own any of these clips or the music, i just brought them together for sharing and personal use. I love copyright :) Newcastle and Liverpool legend!!
Peter Beardsley brought joy to football fans wherever he played but nowhere more so than at St James' park. He's my favourite of them all and I'm proud to be a Geordie because of players like Beardsley, Gazza, Waddle, Keegan and Shearer. God, just listen to the way he's talking at the end about playing for Newcastle, about how lucky he is to play for the club. Please God, send us another Beardsley soon!
@@irp2283 I can’t tell you what it means because it means everything. Seriously considering retiring from the navy soon and moving the family back up there, lock stock and barrel.
Beardsley seems to be overlooked too often when it comes to lists of great English players these videos are a testament to his brilliance to think we had him Barnes Robson hod dle such a gifted group we should have won the world cup
Fantastic job on the video mate, a real great player. I'm 21 so missed all his playing career but me dad's always said how good he was. His goals are never really shown but if he was playing in the sky era he wouldn't be so unheralded i don't think. Unreal!
People were always banging on about John Barnes in those days. He wasn't a patch on the hunchback that was Peter Beardsley. The man would attack any1 and they always backed off him.
Best player I've ever seen at Brunton Park playing for CUFC, he even eclipsed Stanley Bowles, this goals clip brought back so many memories and reminded me just what a genius he was.
I remember as an Australian living with a house of Football fans, I needed to pick a team It was the earliy 90's , I saw the scrappy style of Newcastle , they were 14th on the ladder, and I liked their style, they never made a premiership, but gee they made some great signing in those years, Beardsley is a stand out, but many a great signing.
A unique talent. When Liverpool had Beardsley and Barnes at the peak of their powers. Wow!! I was at Wembley for the wrongly disallowed goal v Wimbledon.
Im a soton fan. Le tiss was a genius. And so was beardsley. The most unselfish attacking player ive ever seen. With his individual talent, he always put the team first.
One of my favourite videos. The fact that Beardo with his skinny scratball frame can possess such poise, power and precision is wonderful. Football at its finest. The goals man, the decision making where it counts. Saw him live and was blown away. Half of these goals would be most strikers 'best of my career'. Champion.
Most gifted English player ever, if he’d have played for Real Madrid or Barca the fans would have adored him, his first touch was magical his vision and awareness were as good as any player in Europe at the time, the kind of player that didn’t need to train except for stamina , everything else about him was naturally there a genius , forget George Best Beardsley was better....
Criminally under-rated. The finest footballer ever to pull on a Newcastle or indeed an England shirt. I wonder just how many defenders he left sat on their arses looking stupid.
I think its time beardsley gets the credit he deserves. I never understand how underrated he is. Being a magpie myself i know how special he really was. I copied the beardsley shuffle in my playing days and it worked lol
I've commented on it before, but I'll type it again,he was as good as George Best,if he'd been Dutch or Italian,or German they'd be raving about how good Beardsley was at his best
Love videos like these of all the players of yesteryear gone by. There's so many special players out there that we forget about, so seeing stuff like this makes me remember why football used to be great.
Beardsley seems to be overlooked too often when it comes to lists of great English players these videos are a testament to his brilliance to think we had him Barnes Robson hod dle such a gifted group we should have won the world cup
God bless copyright! Thank you for posting this tribute to the Mighty Beardsley! Forgot how awesome he was. you have to respect a true professional and legend one of the last who seemed proud to be a Geordie and wore the Three Lions with Pride,,,,,,,,,,,, All the best ! From a life long ................... Leeds United fan
Peter used to come out to see us train and play on the Vancouver Whitecap reserves, in the early 80's, before he went back to play in England. Meeting him and watching him play, he was always very humble and confident. A real gentlemen if there ever was one. I had no idea that he was going to become a star player in and for England. But thinking back, remembering seeing him train and play. How hard he worked to become the player he did. It is not much of a surprise to me now.
I just dont understand why this man isn´t a worldwide legend of football, I have never hear of him, amazing talented player!!! Hey he looks like Messi´s father!!! and played like he was his son!!
Peter was the Rocky Balboa of English soccer. On first glance most people wrote him off maybe even laughed behind his back but with a ball at his feet he had skill, courage, vision & a lot of heart
I agree with the Messi comment. To me theres hardly any difference between the two, and yet Messi is rated the best in the world...so to should Beardsley have been. Fantastic player and person...thanks for some amazing memories Pete!
Beardsley waddle and gazza were on fire at Newcastle .as a Boro fan I went to Newcastle to watch them against Preston in FA cup boro game called off...they left all three on bench .think Goddard scored.
Once saved a pen from in a charity game but he scored the rebound. Offered him a stick of my kit kat after the game and he replied 'no thanks, just had some crisps'
Peter Beardsley was a far better player than Wayne Rooney ever was, He made Andy Cole and Gary Lineaker They would be better off giving Peter a call up to honour him, anyone know what's happened at Newcastle and the ridiculous accusations about him ? a travesty he is a gentleman and was a rare talent.
i've just watched some Messi footage and i have to say Peter is probably on par with him, he just made everyone else look like a half-wit moron, there was no keeping up with him.
Only player ever to have been on the books of both red and blue in Liverpool AND Manchester. He never actually played for United and was only briefly at City on loan, but still, isn't that interesting?
Toons greatest ever player. Don't blame him at all for leaving after the 86 world cup, showed he was up there with the best. In my view though he was knackered at the 88 Euros & 1990 world cup & contributed nothing. Wish he'd turned it on again in those tournaments.
Great video. But why do people insist on tacking on their own soundtrack? What's wrong with the original commentary? Much more fitting don't you think?
3:15 Legend has it that this defender had to insure his ankles for the next time he played against Beardsley incase they folded like crisp packets again. HAHAAHAHA
