LOL..Ahhh, I saw what ya did there, ya scamp...I thought you were gonna put before you dropped "THE WHO"... "likely be a member of...wait for it...The Who!" Funny bit, L
oh my goodness... so Chris Eccleston played John Lennon In Lennon Naked, Peter Capaldi played George Harrison in this, and Andrew Scott played Paul McCartney in Lennon Naked... and also, the kid who saved the Doctor in the episode "Human Nature" also played Paul McCartney in the movie Nowhere Boy... so many BBC Doctor Who and Sherlock/ Beatles connections!!
What if the Beatles never really existed. What if the group was actually made up of 4 incarnations of The Doctor hanging out to play music together? LOL
It’s really funny watching movies like this because they tend to really feed into the whole myth that the atmosphere in the studio with the Beatles was just nothing but tension and moodiness. Get Back really debunks all the myths surrounding The Beatles and Let It Be
Originally a different actor was set to play the role but his name was very similar to Mark David Chapman, the man who killed john so they got this guy instead.
I spoke to Yoko and Larry King on his show on CNN when she was promoting this movie. I asked her what control she had over the movie. She said little to none. I asked Larry if he liked Beatle music. He said not until a famous composer (whose name escapes me) showed him the finer points of their compositions.
I seen Mark McGann on a flight from Bristol to Zurich about 10 years ago. As we were leaving the plane, he happened to be walking in front of me. I said that I loved his performance as John Lennon and he said in his Liverpool accent „ awwww bless ya heart“
For people saying that Capaldi was a doctor (the 12th),, and so was Eccleston (9th doctor) that played John in Lennon Naked? Well, Mark McGaan that plays John in this, is the brother of Paul McGaan, who ALSO played a Doctor (the 8th)
Any other Beatle fans feel really awkward and embarrassed watching all these over the top parodies of actual events? Who directed this Oliver Stone? John busts out in front of the camera and goes "HIGHER YEAH!!!" X-)
Yoko said in the George Harrison documentary from 2011 that George was always very kind to her, and that he didn't treat her poorly just because she was a girlfriend in the studio. Seems odd that they'd single him out to be the complainer here considering he was supposedly the opposite.
One thing they didn't even try to do in this movie was keep up with Lennon's ever-changing hair lengths in the Seventies. They basically kept him in that 1968 look for a big chunk of the film.
Was there literally zero research done for this movie? The continuity is insane. Yoko turning up during ‘Sgt Pepper’? The Beatles playing ‘Oh Yoko’? ‘I want you (she’s so heavy) during the India sabbatical? Unbelievable how shit this is. 😂
+MaskedMan66 Someone should write a story about four incarnations of the Doctor traveling to Liverpool in the late 50s/early 60s and becoming the Beatles. Perfect case of the bootstrap paradox.
7:10 John: "I think you're daft. I wasn't gonna tell you, but I want out. I want a divorce." George: "OH FUCK OFF! RESIGNING?!? HOW FUCKING IMPRESSIVE!!!"
+MaskedMan66 Gospel, loads of Folk and Country. Atheists like Nick Cave are inspired by Religion.......It's a bit like saying songs about love don't work
They always make Yoko too pretty in these biopics and parodies. Come on guys if you're gonna do a biopic try to get as much as possible right, plus the facial hair looks like they just cut off the hair from the wigs and glued it to their faces
I feel like I need to do a joke now. Um, something about across the Universe? Um, he's a real nowhere man?... Nobody was even sure that he was from the house of Time Lords? There we go.
It’s also funny watching this movie in particular portray George as being moody and not liking Yoko. I mean, at some points George was moody but that’s because he felt like his ideas weren’t being listened to while John and Paul were pretty much working together
Why does no one know how to do a good John Lennon impression. No one at all does it right, ever. It's always nasally and annoyingly sarcastic. John had much more wit than sarcasm and he was never a dick to reporters.
Ok i wasnt aware of this. george Harrison has always been the cutest to me and peter capaldi is sexy af as the Doctor and my ex looks like them 😅 i have a type
