Peter Cooper on Uncle Walt's Band 

Well. So good to hear another heartfelt tribute to Uncle Walt's Band. I went to see them every chance I got when they (and I) were situated in Nashville. That was a long time ago, but my admiration of what they were able to accomplish has never waned. For some reason they came back to mind a few months ago, and wouldn't you know, I find myself proselytizing their music all over again, like some televangelist. Right now I am wondering whether I'll ever get my CD copy of "Blame it on the BossaNova" back from the neighbor down the street. It's an emotional topic for me, all tied into the college years and my own small attempts at making music. These three fellows did something very special. It may not have greatly enriched them, but it sure enriched me.

I loved them then and still do. My children now know the words by heart.

I fell head over heels for them when I was just out of highschool in Austin, Texas about 1977-8?

So fantastic. Such an insightful analysis of UWB and all the influences they had themselves, and that their great music had on so many others. And of course, as only Peter could deliver the story. Hopefully Walt & Peter are swapping stories and songs together, in the next realm. We sure do miss them though, in this one...
