So many incredible memories, I saw most of those goals when I was a young fella, now we have both his sons who are creating some incredible memories of their own, go the mighty pies
Although a North Melbourne supporter, I really enjoy watching highlights of this magician. Most unfairly sacked at the start of 1994, had a couple of years left in him.
First time in history of any sport that a team of champions made a champion team. Daicos, Shaw, Brown, Crosisca, Starcevitch, Millane, McGuane, Monkhorst. 1990. I was 15 and the rest of my family were all Essendon supporters. It was glorious.
I watched that grand final on TV in a room of Essendon supporters. My Roos were out so I figured it was time for Collingwood to show what they had. I loved it. The rest of the room hated me!
I do not follow Collingwood, but Daicos was a pleasure to watch. He had so much talent. He could turn his player inside out and make it look so easy. Today's players are so one dimensional.
Soccer is the greatest sport on Earth and is massive in over 240 countries. Afl is big in 4 Australian States. Soccer will be the number 1 sport in Australia by 2050 hdyfx
That goal from the boundary against the Eagles is just about my favourite highlight ever. The bump from Millane on Worsfold...so good. Pies might have won the flag in 92 if Millane was still on his wing.

Damn, my memory lights up with most of this action... as a young boy; I was lucky enough to be there. Brilliant. (Season tickets as a pre-teen and my pop made me a box to stand on when i went to away games in the standing area's)... still some of my best memories.
not only has he gone down in history as a great of the game, but both his sons will too, he trained them well on how to play the game, and have a positive impact on the game too !!!
Thanks for uploading this mate, it's appreciated. Can you imagine if he played in today's game? Ridiculous how often he did the spectacular. I made a Top 50 goals of all time video a couple of years back and after seeing this I really could have included 20 efforts from Daicos... what a freak.
I was at a fair few of those games. Some memories there! One goal i particularly remember that wasn't there was a 65m torp against Richmond on the MCG. One of the sweetest kicks I saw.
Halfway through. Im loving 4:04 minutes in with 6:27minutes in. This bloke is unique and thank goodness he played for Collingwood Magpies To be continued
Daicos an undisputed Legend of the game, should be Officially recognized at some point IMO. His early-80s work as a genuine on-baller for the Magpies goes a little unrecognized when evaluating his career; he was very much recognized for his work as a deadly small forward with a deep bag of footytrix, but those early 80's, pre-knee, when a knee-was-a-knee days as a centreman were overflowing with promise - he could've been a multiple Brownlow medallist as a midfielder if his knee'd have stood up to greater ground coverage. Great player was Peter Daicos and I am a Geelong (=Ablett) man
Well done, great video. Loved watching him play. What a shame we won't see a player like this (& so many other freakishly skilled players) again. Now we get to see the blokes who can run, jump, do beep tests & evade cones at draft camps.
Joshy has definitely improved over the last 12 months and won goal of the year last year! I don’t want to compare the two because that wouldn’t be fair, but I think both josh and Nick are gonna produce some brilliant footy too!!
They breed them tough in Preston ! He wasn't allowed to play for our school when Collingwood signed him up - he told me in the school corridor all those years ago! I knew he was good but had no idea he would become great. If you know him, he's a very nice person.
@@nathansmart1532 I grew up with his younger brother and his parents are great. His mother and my mother worked together, that's how I got to know the family, well before he became a footballer. Our high produced some very good footballers during that period, a few others got a run at Collingwood but got delisted after 1-2 years. Daicos was the only one that remained. I'm really keen to see how his sons go. I hope they do well but the Tigers do better :)
He was in my sisters class in high school. He used to kick trick shots on goal across from our home on Blake St with my oldest brother around 74/5 so it was never a surprise to see him become an absolute champion of the game.He lost a couple of good years with serious knee injuries but surprisingly he never strapped his ankles even in the VFL/AFL
@@paulwilliams-or8hq So your sister must have attended PEHS. I was a student there from 1980-1985. Both Daicos brothers attended the school. Peter played for Preston RSL & I believe their home ground was behind his parental home in Wood St, just past the milk bar. His younger brother & I used to go & watch him. His younger brother was a very talented sportsman in cricket & football, sadly passed away last year. At the same age, he was actually more talented than Peter.
If you are talking goals only I would say Daicos has the best highlights of all time in terms of varied awesome goals and people sometimes forget these goals don't get multiple angles and HD of today
newer pies fan here. cant imagine how special it is for those who watched peter to watch his sons tear it up. this man is a freak edit: is he left or right footed?
Nathan Buckley, I plead with you to let Josh Daicos, play in the A.F.L. in 2019 at least for half the season as he needs to experience A.F.L. Football if he is EVER going to be anything like his FATHER also Callum Brown needs time in the A.F.L. 2019 must be their time.
thedys70 Well he won't win any awards for modesty, but he did win a brownlow; and most AFL players don't win brownlows. In any case I was comparing some of the goals he kicked with those of Daicos, more so than their general play.
Cando, yes Wankermanis kicked some good goals, but I put many of them down to his acceleration away from an opponent, more so than any actual evasive qualities, of which he had ZERO, and Daicos had a plethora.
Back again at 9:25 minutes for number 10? Against the, as i like to call them, BREAST FED BEARS. yes , i still got issues about the grannys. But we still need to keep the faith 🤍🖤🤍🖤
