The way Tywin stands up, he knows Tyrion is completely serious in his threat. I think Joffrey knew it as well, as he looked nervous before his false bravado kicked in 😂
Yes, and at the same time he is serious for this marriage, as it will provide him the heir of Lannisters and Hold of the North via Sansa. He doesn't want to let it ruin at any cost, so that's why he stood up to trick Jofferey and calm the argument.
I'd say surprised, shocked & pissed he disrespected & put him in his place shutting him down in front of everyone, the entire court, that Tyrion isn't afraid of Joffery nor does he care to kiss his as$
Not really. I think he mostly stood up because threatening the king has a death penalty, which Joffrey would easily command. Tywin still doesn't want to spill Lannister blood
@@nikssu indeed, hence why he offered Tyrion a way out, which he took. Though perhaps you wanted to answer another comment that does mention standing up...this one does not lol
@@nk-dw2hmisn't there like a theory that Cersei and Jaime aren't Tywin's real children, but children of the mad king who r***d Tywin's wife? That might explain how good looking and incestuous Cersei and Jaime are, and how they don't resemble Tywin.
@@ollikoskiniemi6221O. It's possible that Tyrion is a Targaryen. Remember how he bonded with the Dragon in the dungeon? The Twins are definitely Lanisters, but not Tyrion. This is also referenced somewhere in the books.
@@nk-dw2hm Not quite, Tywin had a greater obsession with his house that made him not mind doing unethical actions for the good of his lineage while Tyrion was different, impulsive, manipulable and ethical, he criticized Tywin for the red wedding and he I refuse to have children with Sansa even if it gave the Lannisters the key to the north; Both were intelligent but they used their intelligence following completely different ideologies and purposes
You could tell by this point Tyrion had it up to here with this sadistic little shit and was not going to be bullied by him anymore. Seeing him so often be the only one to stand up to Joffrey was one of the best dynamics of early/mid GOT.
Tywin helping out Tyrion (or maybe just trying to prevent a disaster during a Lannister wedding idk probably) like that always makes me smile a little.
Sansa could get the best man in 7 kingdoms, who protect her as Noone, but she was so silly because of her age. I hope Martin will make them a real family
Everyone in this scene is an amazing actor. They all played their parts to perfection. I’d argue Dinklage is the worst of the 3, and he’s amazing. That’s just how good the other two are.
It's been a long time since I've hated a character as I do Joffery. I wanted him to die the most painful death imagined, and taking forever in the process !
I'm amazed how Jeoffry assumes he is the king in the presence of Tywin, to be honest nobody cared about the bastard, even Cersi and Jamie had hit it up even before Jeoffry's coffin was closed 😅
"Amazing" has become a trite expression and now means nothing. Use your words to say something besides, "I'm a thoughtless Lemming." There are thousands of Adjectives at your disposal.

Also “adjective isn’t a proper name and shouldn’t be capitalized. Amazing.
